Fantastic little cafe offering a great selection of dishes at very reasonable prices. Food is great and tasty and freshly prepared by the lovely staff working here. They offer a good selection of basic foods and the portions are huge, especially for the money you pay. They offer children's meals as well as breakfasts, main meals and some light snacks. well behaved dogs are allowed as well and it's situated opposite the castle so you can use it as a base for a visit.

Great honest food and can only recommend this place.

Great little Cafe. Friendly staff and dog friendly too. Pooches even get a free sausage 😀 love it! I go regularly for a fry up and lots of black coffee: I'm an addict. Same location as The Cellar Bar, but keeps different hours. The Cellar houses a cracking good live music venue: fabulous 😀!

What can I say? The castle café and cellar bar is just a wonderful place. From open mic showcasing some of the best local musical talents, to a decent breakfast after overendulging the night before Steve and his staff do it well and with a smile on their faces.

Amazing place with a bar in the cellar playing live music later in the evenings.
The staff there are some of the nicest people you could meet, quick service and the prices are great value for money.

I will come here everytime I'm in this part of the country, in fact I'm planning to return later on this summer with my partner.

What an absolutely amazing place. So dog friendly, Luther even got a free sausage. We had the large all day breakfast with 2x lattes and a Pepsi max, came to under £23. The breakfast was lovely, food was really good, service was exceptional. We didn't get any names of staff unfortunately, but our waitress was Italian (Ciao bella) and the lovely gent who made our drinks had a beard which was a work of art. Amazing. Can't wait to return many times next year.

They were either unwilling or unable to enforce COVID rules, food was sufficient for price in quality and amount. In the summer days it's a busy place so maybe it was just a bad time and day to visit. We cannot recommend it but we'd give it a second chance.
