Cafe Ceunant

We stumbled across this place delightedly, as we were feeling hungry after a morning of walking and exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Within a few minutes we (a party of 7) felt decidedly uncomfortable as the atmosphere was really quite odd. I really wish we had left then. Our drinks came one at a time and took absolutely ages - the order was wrong too, but after several tries to correct this, we just gave up. The person who appeared to be in charge was a strange man and made some odd, inappropriate 'jokes' to us and also loudly made fun of the young waitress with a local man - it was really horrible. His general demeanour was quite bizarre which is probably why the whole experience felt so tense. Our food came eventually, again in dribs and drabs. It was pretty rubbish - tiny portions of under-flavoured food and all with the backdrop of odd creepyness...
Eating such small amounts of food thankfully did not take long. The bill came and we were gobsmacked at how much it was. All of us together did not have enough cash and they didn't take cards, so we had to do a bank transfer whilst watched in a hawk-like way, further adding to the non-existent customer service.
We left feeling hungry and poor, the only saving grace the feeling of having faced something truly weird together for some anecdote-gold later on. But my advice overall is definitely to just avoid - zero stars.

Not sure what the other reviewer had to complain about. 4 drinks and two cookies for under £12. Coffee and tea was good, the kids scoffed the cookies. Another customer was having a burger and chips, which looked tasty. He didn't have a problem eating it!

Oh, it's cash only.

We visited for lunch and were pleased with good food that tasted fresh/home made, a fair price and friendly service.

Would happily visit again!
