Their door sign clearly says they are open until 19.00 and we asked the lady what time she closed tomorrow and she said 19.00. However she refused to serve us at 18.45 today. My brother told me she has been rude previously to him as well. Total joke
I don't leave reviews on places especially negative ones, but it isn’t a first time we receive such an appalling service, not only the management but one staff member in particular (girl with glasses and dark brown hair).
Rolling eyes, rude and can’t be bothered attitude, even after asking to cancel the order because of the attitude, they just don't care.
What is more shocking to see so many customers experiencing similarly bad service and nothing is being done about it!
It is so bad that makes you think it is a joke.
It is shame, located in prime spot and something that could be a great gathering place for family is being stained by the staff.
DISAPPOINTED and DISGUSTED something needs to be done
We had the afternoon tea as we had a voucher. After 20 minutes I asked the waitress if our drinks were on the way (there were 3 staff behind the counter but not serving anyone). She asked what we’d ordered and then made them immediately as they’d not been put through (she was the one who took our order). Another 25 minutes later I asked a different member of staff if they knew how long our food would be and it came out 15 minutes later so we waited an hour for sandwiches and cakes which weren’t up to the standard we expected. They were fine but nothing of how patisserie Valerie used to be.
The tables either side of us were complaining because each of them had received part of their meal after they’d finished eating everything else. We saw 4 separate people come in and sit down to order, then after not getting any service, just left.
There weren’t that many people in there and no one was rushing around, but it was all a bit of a shambles.
The staff were polite and helped when we asked.
We needed a vegetarian menu so the manager took back what he had to get us the vegetarian option, however he said we may as well have what they made as I ate meat anyway.
All the staff I found were helpful and friendly, exactly what you need on such a miserable day.
When we finally got our mocha after a decent wait, the staff were not listening when we were asking questions and the drink was awful, really watery and tasted of neither coffee nor chocolate. So many options for hot drinks on the high street that I wished I'd gone for instead 😕
