Typical CMC site, clean and spacious. Free for all at 1pm to get a pitch space, but not crowded when we visited.
Shady space with friendly wildlife who come right up to you.

Nice addition of a small games room for the children with a pool table, table tennis and giant connect 4. Appreciated by my teenager! ❤️

10 minute walk to Castleton with an abundance of pubs and cafes. Recommend the George, both for pizzas (takeaway available) & for their specials!

Stunning site. Perfect facilities and location. Super clean site. Sadly there were the usual ignorant dog owners who thought allowing their dog to bark all day was acceptable(t4 Green campervan if you ever read this, you are shocking dog owners) but other than that all good.

What a lovely site! Immaculate grounds and spotless facilities but super friendly so you felt at home immediately. Nice walks for the dog around the site and also into Castleton itself. A lovely introduction to using our new campervan, would definately recommend!

Lovely campsite and very well situated for walking. The facilities are large and kept clean and the water is hot (or cold) no push button. There are a couple of dog walks around the campsite which is useful. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and they were always busy working on site, which is probably why the site looks so good. The site is a short 10 /15 minute walk into Castleton village where there are 7 pubs, coffee bar, lovely bakery and village shop. The bakery does some lovely pies and cakes! We went to a few of the pubs The Castle (Vintage Inns so part of a chain), Swiss Tap Bar has local beer and a big TV screen if that's what you like and our favourite Ye Old Cheshire Cheese, we had a lovely meal here & can recommend the Innkeepers plate pie. In the other direction is Hope via the road or the footpath which is lovely although a lot of styles and not all dog friendly. There is a Spar and post office here and a few pubs /cafes too. There are beautiful walks in every direction from the campsite Mam Tor, Cave Dale, Win Hill and Lose Hill, it really is a walkers paradise. We loved our stay so much we extended by a few days. I should say this is our 28th Campsite on a 12 week tour and this is up there as one of our best by far.

Great campsite in every way and only 5 minutes walk from Castleton, 20 minutes walk to Hope and easily walkable to Mam Tor (Mother Hill) and back in 2 hours.
Also look at Blue John mines, Peak Cavern, Peveril Castle and more to do in Castleton.
