More than five stars for this site. It looks very recently updated or new, clean and tidy. The site managers went above and beyond, not only were they cheerful and friendly, they supplied useful information about walks and the area. We walked the local history trail around the lovely town of Belper which they supplied. Very enjoyable visit, wish I could have stayed longer.

Lovely site extremely clean & tidy nice welcome. Wardens are very meticulous so quiet alot of noise during the day but worth it. If your going out to eat/drink strongly recommend the Spanker food large portions and great value.

Lovely CAMC site with beautiful views of the Derwent Valley from the seating area. As usual, the sloping site has been levelled into large flat terraced sections, with nice spacious pitches and good, clean facilities. Wardens are smashing.

Plenty of wildlife if you take time to look. Robins, wood pigeon, tawny owls, blackbirds, crows, magpies, buzzards and more that I didn't spot.

The site is immaculate, grounds are well manicured and tidy with a beautiful surprise view. The shower facilities are modern, spotlessly clean. A credit to the wardens. The pitches are great sizes, some are a little bit of squeeze to manoeuvre into but with a motor mover no issue. There is a small grass area (not secure) for dogs to do essentials but we found it better to jump in car and go out. Belper Nature Reserve is nice, 20 mins Allestree Park is fantastic.
Only downside was noisy kids from pitch few doors down. Whilst we appreciate it wasn't an 'Adults Only' site and is school holidays, a little respect for other caravaners would have been nice. There are no facilities for kids (no play park or games room etc) but one family from hell thought totally acceptable to allow kids to ride at super speeds on scooters passing neighbouring vans every few seconds shouting and squealing as they whizzed by. They went with the one way, against the one way system racing each other round & round. A serious accident waiting to happen. At one point the boy came down the hill so fast he had to jump off to be able to stop, narrowly missing our neighbours who had pulled the car out onto the road to hook up to leave. The speed he was travelling would have seriously hurt him and cause damage to the vehicle. Another of the children also had scooter run away with him, went flat on his face and then the squealing and crying started. At no point did any of the adults stop the kids, asking them to slow and quieten down. I wouldn't have allowed my dog to walk past their van every few minutes barking and yapping so why should others have to put up with their noisy feral kids. This went on from mid morning until about 8pm. People were just trying to enjoy the gorgeous weather, peace and quiet, the birds chirping, a nice meal and drink and good company. The inconsiderate family that spoilt this for many should be ashamed. Other than that it's a really nice site, well worth a visit. Hopefully this experience was a one off and we won't let it put us off, will definitely try it again (maybe midweek during term time).

Typical C&M club site with fewer pitches than most. Wardens were on the ball, its very clean and tidy. Pitches are on two levels. Larger flat upper level with facilities, shower block etc, lower level has much fewer pitches on two tiers with just a single service point. There's a much greater than usual mix of fully serviced (red pegs) to standard pitches (white pegs). It's a fair not flat walk into Belper centre and a stretch is without pavement. There a nice viewpoint with a couple of picnic benches. Follow directions to the site carefully not sat navs! As well as the usual problems of steep hills, narrow roads etc, turning left off the A6 Matlock road into the lane isn't recommended. Grounding marks in the road surface attest to people who've tried it.
