We camped here with 4 children in the heat of July and it was a wonderful site. Great pitch size, ours backed onto the forest so we had good shade too. Fantastic facilities, powerful showers, clean and tidy, pool, playground, disco with kids bingo, my youngest son did archery and really enjoyed it. Take bikes/scooters etc for the kids! It's very safe for them to scoot around there. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely stay here again

Liked: Lovely peaceful site set in the Forest of Dean. We had a hard standing pitch on 'The Meadow' (great level pitch) with a view over the field so it was great for the children to play and we could still see them. The indoor pool was really good and wasn't overly busy considering we stayed in the 6 week holidays. Good range of activities for the children to do online (we booked these during our stay but you can book them in advance). The toilet/shower facilities were good and they had 2 blocks at either end of the site, meaning toilet/shower facilities were always available while one block was being cleaned. There was a family bathroom and a laundry room.
There is a cycle hire place within walking distance and some great cycle tracks.
There is a small shop online but Tesco is only 3 miles away.
The restaurant/bar area was nice and had a great outdoor seating area. There was evening entertainment on each night in The Venue, but we didn't use this.
Great site for dogs, there was a small enclosed exercise area on site.

Liked: The whole site feels safe and secure. It’s a beautiful location. The facilities are brilliant. The kids loved the pool. Forest walks are brilliant too. I wish I had taken the bikes and scooters for the kids to enjoy as literally zero cars going past our camp and felt very safe. We booked 3 nights, absolutely loved every minute and are booking to stay for longer next year. A fantastic find, family friendly. Dog friendly. Forest walks right next to camp that surrounds the whole site. Relaxed feel to place. Highly recommend staying there if you love camping.

Disliked: Nothing.

Very nice site. We stayed for a week in our caravan. The pitch was very nice and not cramped at all. The WiFi actually worked and was good which is rare for most sites I have visited. The facilities were very clean and the staff are very friendly. The evening entertainment was very good for both kids and adults. The activities offered were great and varied for the time of year. It is also centrally located to lots of tourist attractions for walks and kids activities. Overall I loved it.

Liked: Lots of activities available on site. Swimming pool was good and a nice temperature. Lots of outdoor space and play areas for the kids. Shower blocks were very clean.
Takeaway pizza was nice.

Disliked: The activity golf was fun but felt a bit expensive for a family of 4 as only took 20-30 minutes to do.

Liked: Great site with good hard standing with water nearby. Toilet, shower and dishwashing facilities were all clean and had everything you’d need. Site is right in the Forest of Dean with a private gate leading lovely walks and cycle rides nearby. The Sculpture Trail is about a mile away.
The pool is fab with two jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and children’s pool. Family changing rooms and solo changing rooms are lovely and clean. The shop has nice wine, great selection of chocolate and crisps plus quite a few essentials. There’s a big restaurant, waffle shack, outdoor seating, entertainment venue and loads of grassland to play in. There’s also a mini golf course.
We rode down to Lydney harbour which was really lovely. Coffee shop, a couple of nice walks and car parking - not much space to park a motorhome without blocking a few car parking spaces. Lydney town has everything you might want to buy locally including fish and chips. There’s a caravan specialist and a cycle shop nearby for emergencies.
The Dean Forest Steam Railway is in Parkend not far from the campsite.
The site also has apartments, glamping pods and chalets for rent. The staff are lovely. In fact everyone we met during our holiday was lovely.

Liked: This was our 2nd stay at Whitemead and it didn't disapoint . The site is well laid out and very clean, the facilities were spotless . The best part is the pool and steam room , even if its a bad weather day this is somewhere that you can go. The surrounding area is a great place to go walking and cycling, watch out for the wild boar and deer.
Great site highly reccomend

Disliked: Little bit of noise late at night from people sat outside drinking

Liked: We absolutely loved our stay at Whitemead, so much so we would love to return and stay longer. The place was beautifully landscaped, clean, well-appointed and dressed festively for Christmas. The staff were communicative and answered immediately when I emailed to say we would be ten minutes late. At checking-in, the receptionist was warm and helpful.
The facilities were first class. We could not believe it was only £18.50 to stay for the night. This gave us use of a swimming pool, steam room and sauna! This also included electrical hook-up! The grounds were lovely, and access directly into the forest was clearly signposted.
When we wanted to stay longer, we paid £9 which covered us up until 6pm, which we thought was excellent value.
Even our greyhound got free dog biscuits. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed.
What an excellent place you have created - thank you so very much.
