Liked: We were visiting for a wedding down the road so was perfect location for us. The campsite was pretty simple but all we needed - the toilet and shower facilities were great and always in clean condition - the showers are probably the best I've had on a campsite.

It was great to have the restaurant available on site for an evening meal as we didn't want to bring along any cooking equipment as were travelling light. Gerald was lovely to have a chat to and learn about the campsite.

We also took up the opportunity to book extra the fire pit for the evening which came with everything needed to make a fire and plenty of wood to burn. A great little spot for a campsite.

Liked: Loved Absolutely everything about this site. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, from showing us the facilities and our pitch when we arrived to stopping for a friendly chat and offering advice on places to visit. The site and facilities were spotless. A very pretty place to stay. Originally we booked for two nights but decided to extend our stay. 10/ 10. We will definitely be back again.

Liked: Lovely peaceful campsite. Lots of space for the children to play. There’s a nice friendly bar and restaurant serving wonderful food. Beautiful part of the country, with lots of places to visit if you fancy a day out. The children loved the donkey sanctuary, only 15 minutes away. If you rise early morning you can catch a glimpse of the sheep grazing at the top of the field. A great holiday that we will definitely repeat.

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike.

Liked: I loved the pitch location for scenery, privacy, quietness. Toilets, shower and wash up area fab. Needed a beer after pitching the tent in 30+‘ heat, and the owners have got some great local ale available. perfect for a first time camping

Disliked: Couldn’t see the animals and they were hiding in the overgrown area for camouflage and saw a few cows in the distance. But not really a dislike, just a ‘oh well, never mind then’

Liked: We loved our stay at Boveys Down Farm, the facilities were spotless. Beautiful views all around and the owners were very friendly.

My two young children absolutely loved the rope swing and the wooded area behind it. They played there every evening and asked to go there as soon as they woke... They have both asked when can they come back 😊

Disliked: Only issue we had was we were pitched on a slope which meant at night we were sliding down out beds... But it wasnt too much of an issue, we made it work :)

Liked: We enjoyed the stay here. It was a great location for nearby beaches. The site had all we needed and more. Showers, toilets, washing up area and even a place to charge your phone and freezer. Just to bare in mind the site is slightly sloped which is great for the views but not your tent

Disliked: The only downside was that we were a couple without kids and we were placed by a ‚play area’ where a swing was so we had kids playing around our tent all the time but this probably could have been resolved had we asked to be moved.

Liked: Very well spaced out between campers. Very friendly hosts and absolutely nothing is too much trouble!! We decided quite late to hire fire pit they accommodated. We traveled with another family who’s van wouldn’t start and the host was so helpful he managed to bring the jump leads and get their van going again. His patients with the children was lovely to see. We would definitely book to stay again should we visit that part again.

My husband and I have just left after the loveliest new years. We booked last minute and Pam, Gerald and their beautiful farm cat Mia couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had a couple of pints of the delicious local cider which ended up putting us to sleep way before new year came in. Great hosts, good facilities and stunning views. Thank you for having us Pam & Gerald, we could have listening to you talking about farming and sharing your knowledge all evening. Hoping to come back in the spring / summer to enjoy one of your Sunday roasts! Thank you again. James & Cat xx
