This is a great or mediocre site, depending on what you're after! The owners are really friendly on phone but not overly "present" on the grounds, which offer minimalist services (a shower, x2 composting toilets, a little sink area, a small play frame for young kids) The toilet is a neat little composting one, which can be a shock if you're not expecting it but super if you're okay with it. The shower is an open air shack (no roof but ceramic floor and wooden board walls, with hot water). Again, fine if you are OK with this or disappointing if you want a modern shower block....Each pitch has a fire pit and there are electric hook ups for some but not all of them. There's a fresh water supply at the edge of the site. There's a genuine "rustic" feel.... so perfect if you are looking for this but not ideal if you're after some mod cons!

I stayed here for just one night with my dog in May 2022, en-route to somewhere else. It was a lovely little place, very tranquil and peaceful. The outdoor shower was fab and the composting toilets were really clean. I sat around my campfire in the evening enjoying a glass of wine and cooking my supper. Sarah, the host was most helpful at all times. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area. I would have liked to have stayed a bit longer as it was.

This is our happy place. The owner is welcoming & accommodating. The site is lovely & quiet with lots of wildlife around & about. The farm is dog friendly and lots of places to visit very close by. The scenery is stunning with beautiful dark skies. My photos do not do it justice. Most important the site is eco friendly with facilities to match. If you have never had an outdoor shower its a liberating experience! We have stayed in and out of season and always had an amazing experience.

Second stay here was just as brilliant as the first. Love the simplicity of the site and the eco ethos. Very pretty site, quiet, and so close to the lovely town of Bovey with easy access to the moors. Facilities are basic and clean, which is great for someone looking for a real camping experience. There are personal touches around the facility that make the space very comfortable. Also, the private outdoor shower with hot running water is fantastic! Love the fire pits and the convenience Sarah offers with wood available on site.
This was our second stay and it was meant to be earlier in the season, but we ran into car issues and couldn’t make our original booking. Sarah was really helpful in accommodating us to get the stay rearranged and I’m so glad for it. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys camping.
Very good rates too!

We have a greyhound and on-site there is an accessible field we can use to exercise him adjacent to the campsite that is fairly secure and large to use for a brief walk. Facilities are eco friendly and basic but great, the shower is lovely to use. The use of fire pits is a huge bonus. The site itself has a great feeling to it and beautiful even just to sit in for a day and relax without going anywhere. Recycling facilities make a change from other campsites too.

Great little site, everyone friendly and even though up late, everyone was still enjoying themselves. Quiet and respectful, clean toilets, albeit a bit smelly, but you get used to it. Nice hot outdoor shower, good firepits, which look amazing at night when everyone else is using theirs. Awesome experience will definitely return.

Really nice semi wild camp site with composting toilets and an electric outdoor shower. Pretty level site with mature trees. Fire pits provided. Children's play equipment. Also bell tents and a shepherds hut available for hire.
