Meadowview Caravan And Camping

Liked: The American motorhome suited my needs perfectly. It was great to have all the kitchen facilities plus a portaloo. It was kind of the owner to provide a hand towel in the loo and a tea towel as I knew I had to bring all my own linen, bedding and towels. TV reception was good. Great to have a screen door to let a breeze through but keep bugs out. Shower block was clean and spacious with good water pressure. Small site and quiet at night. Would definitely stay again.

Disliked: These aren't really dislikes, just 'be aware'. The motorhome is showing its age. I'm used to camping so having a solid roof over my head and most mod cons was ideal for me but it's not luxurious - which is reflected in the price. I was aware of this before booking as the description on the website is accurate. (I think some other reviewers may have had unrealistic expectations?) The mattress could do with replacing soon (or turning?) as the springs are starting to come through - I'd bring a mattress topper too next time.

Liked: Very quiet site, owner was very helpful. Stayed in American campervan.Toilet and shower facilities were adequate and clean. We liked staying in van granddaughter loved it. The bunk over the cab is not very safe for young children as there is nothing to stop them falling out.

Disliked: Think the campervan could have done with a really good clean. Didn’t like the fact that we were in the middle of a caravan storage site,this seems to be missing from pictures of the site. It all seemed a little run down in places.

Liked: Had a fantastic stay in the campervan. Had everything we needed. Great communication with the owner. site was clean and quiet and everyone was friendly.

Disliked: Not actually a dislike but didn't like having to leave.

Liked: Really nice camping pod, fairly close to the toilet block. Comfortable futon and the kettle and microwave are very useful to have. A cosy environment for a short stay.

Disliked: A little unclean inside. I needed to clean the microwave plate before use and there was dirt on the floor of the pod.

Liked: Proximity to Wicken Fen Reserve (10 min walk), Ely (a lovely 2.5 hour walk along the river) and Cambridge (25 mins by car).

Disliked: Traffic noise - wasn't too bad for me as I wasn't sat outside due to the weather, but would put me off in better weather when I would want to be outside. Also, most of the other guests seemed to be there for work so arrived late and left early and weren't that quiet about it.

Liked: A most excellent site, well set out and tended. Because we had to go at that time it was absolutely freezing but the owner had the facilities open.

Liked: Beautiful scenery around the site, pod was comfortable enough for the two of us, man was extremely nice and helpful! He offered us an extra (much needed) heater on the night it dropped to -5! General upkeep of the toilets.

Extremely close to the Wicken fen nature reserve which made for perfect days out

Disliked: Very close to a road (however this does quiet down of a night) this is just me being picky. Other than this not a single complaint!

Liked: Small campsite with clean basic facilities. Very friendly and helpful owners. 5 min easy walk to the village with pub, working windmill and NT Wicken Fen.

Disliked: My pitch was near to the road with some traffic noise during the day.
