Pondhead Farm

Liked: booked a few nights stay at this campsite, not all campsites in the new forest had toilets but this one did, it was a double porta cabin, and was fine. site had nice area to stay and there was a small shop selling sort drinks and ice cream. easy access and close to Lyndhurst. the owners were helpful and polite, my six year old daughter found other children to play with and the surroundings were nice with footpaths and obviously animals to see. we booked this site as a base so we could spend time visiting areas around the new forest, and it was ideal. it was calm and peaceful and i would recommend and would visit again

Liked: Peaceful, a true farm. If you like seeing cows, horses etc this is an okay overnight stop if you are self sufficient . Owner extremely pleasant .Given most sites in the New Forest are grossly overpriced to park here for £20 was ok and matched expectations .

Disliked: The facilities such as they were were lacking ..we understand there are plans afoot to build a proper toilet block. It needs some TLC .

Liked: Friendly proprietor, beautiful location - lovely shop selling fresh eggs and sausages.

Disliked: Toilet floor falls through, is wet and damp - needs replacing but did the job!
Most appear to go to bed at 9pm. Our leisure batteries ran low so we used a small quiet generator and had a complaint by a fellow (tent) camper. Dogs allowed but their humans don't pick up their poop.

Liked: The simplicity. It was easy to find, one field with pitches around the edge and centre if it was really busy. It was a great base to see the area from and was close to Beaulieu. It doesn't have marked pitches, you simply find a space to your liking.

Disliked: The toilet floor felt like it was going to give way. The door wouldn't close easily. Both things were significant for us, and would be harder for a family. We weren't greeted on arrival so had to wing it - not the end of the world. Neither of these things would stop us visiting again, just worth being aware of.

Liked: Nice sized pitch, plenty of space to roam. Nice location for walks and close to local town.

Disliked: Toilet blocks clean enough and stocked with what you needed but in need of repair as the floor gives way and not particularly safe for anyone, especially young children.

Also incredibly noisy after hours. Guests turning up post 11:30pm and groups not settling down till gone midnight. Perhaps just got unlucky on this occasion.

Liked: Really nice quiet site. In good situation for nice walks through the woods to a nearby pub and only a mile walk from Lyndhurst. Very welcoming and handy little shop on site. Toilets available and were nice and clean.

Liked: Close to Lyndhurst (you can walk there), nice farm surroundings. You can buy nice burgers and sausages from the farm!

Disliked: Toilets could be better & perhaps have showers. Great space that could be made amazing.

Liked: It was nice and peaceful, watching the cows and horses from my rocking chair was just perfect!

Facilities are basic, but I had everything I needed in the van, so really for me it was a really well priced and beautiful place to stay for a couple of days.

Would absolutely go back, thanks for having me!
