A beautiful setting surrounded by hills (not too windy). Perfect for walking kinder scout etc. Good shower/toilet/washing up block. Lovely to have a BBQ. The Pennine Way goes through the site! No frills, good honest camping. And national trust, so your support benefits a good cause. Road up is narrow and lumpy, so watch that over loaded car!!

This site would have received 5+. I use to think that every time I visited untill the national trust took over the running of this site. Yes it's beautiful, yes the facilities are very good and clean. But. The charges are insane. An early check in fee before 3pm of £7 is mad. For many reasons, think about it. Everyone turns up at 3... Dumb. The staff come across as jumpy and slightly territorial of the site. Not so much welcoming. It's good but be prepared to pay £35 for 2 people for 1 night if you arrive at 12pm on a Saturday.

My dog was attacked unprovoked by a brown border collie whilst walking through Lee Farm, the farmer did absolutely nothing to stop his dog while i screamed for help. Considering this is a public footpath on National Trust land i would expect to be able to walk through here safely. A number of walkers including young children witnessed this attack, I would avoid going anywhere near here at all costs having a dangerous dog anywhere near a leisure camping site. I most certainly wouldn't risk taking my children here.

Good facilities. Clean. A lot of positive points. Only slight negative was the slope on which to pitch our tent. Kept sliding downhill whilst sleeping. Would have been five stars if it wasn't for that.

Great site for easy access to the Edale Valley and Kinder. Superb views. Facilities are excellent: modern toilet block with shower and sinks outside for washing pots.

Nice campsite in a good location for walking around the Peaks District. Most pitches in the upper field are sloping but you can get a flat-ish spot if it's not busy. Shower block great. Not a lot of staff present on site, which is fine. There are a lot of planes flying over however, which might keep you up at night depending on how low they fly.
