We had a wonderful holiday at the Black Mountain Caravan and Camping Park. Set within a stunning location, the park is ideal for those wishing to unwind and enjoy the peace and solitude that this park has to offer. Although the park facilities are somewhat basic, I had no difficulties in finding plenty of activities for myself and my two children. We went on some wonderful walks, visited the National Botanic Gardens, Caves, Waterfalls and Castles. The proprietors are on hand 24/7 and always happy to assist. I would recommend plenty of warm clothing/extra bedding as the night storage heaters in our caravan was not particularly effective and the climate can be very changeable even in August! We will definately be returning.

Great value for money. The view is spectacular. There is a drinking water tap in the field, and some basic utilities (shower etc) just across the road. The Red Kite feeding centre next door is a bonus, we didn't actually go but there were multiple (10+) Red Kites circling above the campsite at all times which was fantastic.

Very nice location. Quite remote and let me tell you, hardly you get any mobile signal! Have a book or downloaded content for any kind of planning. Pen y fan is nearly an hour away. There are few places near by to visit. The caravan we stayed was absolutely basic. Not a single consumable apart from a roll of toilet roll was provided. You've gotta get the dish soap, scrub if you intend to cook. They do advertise that no bedding or bath towels are provided. We carried sheets, pillow cover and duvet covers but were taken by surprise to see no pillows or duvets... even during end of Aug, it was getting cold in the night (inspite of the electric heater). That's a caution note! Host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local places. He lives in one of the caravan in the park. He is available generally. We ended up reaching at 11pm and still he welcomed us with a smile on his face. Note that there will be no mobile signal, so, if you want to get in touch with the owner, do that before you enter the woods!
Also the same place offer space to pitch your tent. Has got enough shared bath rooms, toilets and general amenities for wash, dry and ironing. Hot water, ironing, washing and drying require 50p per use. You will need to carry all the consumables.

We were very disappointed when we arrived. The site seemed small but, the worst thing was the owners attitude. He was rude, abrupt and surly. He said "NO!" to our stay. He asked us no questions and gave us no explanation. In fact he said nothing but 'no' twice. When my husband asked if the man was having a joke with us. He just said "NO!" and turned away. The man was churlish and obnoxious. I would not ever go there again.
