Fantastic location.
Slightly rustic amenities, but that also puts off the wrong sort of campers , leaving it free for those who enjoy back to basics!

Terrible. I'd called during the week to check availability for a campervan with hookup for 3 nights at the weekend. I left my details and was assured I had a pitch.
My girlfriend and I drove over from Cardiff on Friday afternoon and arrived only to be told they didn't have a pitch with hook up. We explained we'd called during the week only to be told, 'oh well...' with a disinterested shrug. The farmer then suggested we could park up anyway for £25 p/n.
We left. This wasn't the first time we'd used this campsite, we've been visiting for years but we'll never come back again. I didn't mind that they'd made a mistake and didn't have a pitch for us ( it can very confusing trying to run a campsite) but I did mind that the farmer just really didn't seem to care.
If they think this is a good way to run a business, they're wrong. If they think they can survive solely on the strength of the location, they're wrong.
Bad reviews are like covid. They can spread like wildfire!!!

A great site with great views, facilities are basic but clean. 20 minutes walk into Newport via the lane or the coast path. We visit regularly as its open all year.

Brilliant few days with friends great views and very peaceful. Back to basics but that's how it should be. Toilets, showers, washing up facility's and fire pits, what more could you want. Highly recommended.

A great basic camping 🏕️ site thanks to the harries family. The camping field has a slight sloping field and marvelous views. The men's toilets can be drafty on windy days but it's part of camping. A easy walk away from the parogs small sandy beach and the coast path with lovely walks. There's a easy walk into Newport for shopping. And a short drive to Newport drive on beach ⛱️ and other places to visit around this beautiful coast line

We've just got back from a few nights at Ty Canol. What a beautiful place, this is now my favourite campsite. Huw, the owner, is such a great bloke, he came around each night with a Whiskey and a story to tell. So welcoming and friendly. The amenities are kept to a high standard with extras like an individual fire pit and robust picnic tables for every camper. Perfect!
