Liked: We turned up at 3 pm with clear instructions of where to park. Colin and his wife were delightful. Friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Toilets and showers cleaned twice a day. Spotless. The area is stunning and easy walking of the town. The town had a selection of bakeries, butchers cafes and pubs. We went to the Granery for breakfast and the Three Tuns for dinner. Great.

Liked: Nice friendly welcome from the owner Colin. The scenery was very pretty and it's very close to The Wye.
Easy to find. Good communication from the owner prior to arriving.
The showers and toilets were clean with plenty of toilet roll/hand towels.

No issues with the hookup and I was close to the water tap. Flat pitch so a very comfy sleep.

We all agreed we would stay again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends.

Liked: Good spot, by the river Wye, with amazing views all around. Colin was fabulous, stopped to have a chat, ensure we’ve settled ok! Got us extension lead for hook up in case we need it. For the record we’ve stayed in a tent with electric hook up. Toilets were decent, showers working with plenty of space to move around. All in all very happy with our experience. Would definitely book again.

Liked: This site is in a great location, just a short walk into Hay-on-Wye. It is also right next to the Wye river with the lovely Warren close by.

The owner/manager of the site, was very nice, laidback and gave us some great tips for the local area when we arrived.

The site itself is as it described, it's semi-wild with longer grass and wildflowers in the parts of the field that aren't designated as pitches. This was a surprisingly nice change to the standard short cut grass of most sites and it really gave a sense of camping in the wild despite being a 15min walk away from several pubs!

Because the site was fairly quiet, we were given the choice of where we'd like to pitch our tent and we picked a spot next to the fence of an adjoining sheep grazing field. It was nice sitting, facing out over the stunning views of the surrounding hills and watching the lambs play.

The facilities on the site are fairly sparse but that actually added to it's charm for us. The toilets are portaloos and the showers are in converted horse boxes, with a washing up area nearby. Everything was clean and well maintained. We had a pitch with electric hookup and there are a few mains water taps dotted around the site to avoid having to trek around to fill up.

All in all, this was a lovely small and quiet site that I'd recommend to anyone who wanted a tranquil break.

Liked: Friendly, helpful owner. Very basic facilities, campsite was very quiet when we were there but wouldn't like to use the portaloos if the site was full. Close to the town (15 min walk) and some great spots for swimming in the River Wye. Lovely sunset and enjoyed watching the moon come up. Good for a one night stay but wouldn't want to stay longer due to facilities.

Disliked: Price is similar to other sites that have much better facilities.

Liked: Perfect spot, it's a nice walk into Hay town either along the river or more residential area. The site is spacious with excellent facilities. Colin is amazing and very welcoming too. Would definitely stay again (Which would be our 5th time we've stayed there!)

Liked: The site is exactly as advertised. A pop up campsite with portaloos, two showers in horse boxes, a couple of big sinks for washing up and taps for water. Location is great, very close to the river, beautiful scenery and a just short walk into Hay. Colin is a lovely fella, he’s there to meet you and point you in the right direction. He’s so helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. We will definitely return. Thanks for having us Colin.
