Perfect location for us, stunning scenery, and food is available at the local pub or cafe near by. Just don't forget to take toilet roll with you.

Reminded me of how campsites were when o grew up. Turn up and pay at house when you can.

Well priced. Great view of Snowdon. Local pub just meters away. Two local hiking supplies stores. All the essentials on site. 50p shower, Toilet - bring ur own roll. Great phone signal (vofaphone - which is lackinc closer in to the hills)

Some lovely local walks not too taxing for kids although wouldnt say its a family getaway just to stay on site. (you'd have to venture out to get all the activities. But thats why you come to snowdonia anyways.

For me (30yr old male) it was perfect. No fuss easy to get to all the hills i wanted and pub for the nights. I will be coming back and making this my place to come if im staying in the area. Id bring friends too.

Id say its ok for families. But if you like your conforts or want more family focus its not for you.

Cool centre pitch on a hill. No campfires. Unsure about dogs.

Lovely place, great views. Pretty basic camping or campervan, £5pp/pn £5 for a vehicle, just for the first night. Bring 50p coins for the showers, take your rubbish with you which keeps the costs so low.

very basic and rough in places.
the 2 fields are quite sloped in places so there's not that many areas that are flat the ground is pretty much full of stones so getting pegs down was difficult.
the area itself feels like it's in a wind tunnel our tents got absolutely battered all night.
sheep will wake you up at 530-6am as they're 20ft away (if in the back field)
the facilities really let it down, 1 shower which was filthy and full of cobwebs, lights not working, holes in the wall. the toilet was literally the other side of the broken wall so you can share your shower with someone having a poo.
it was cheap though ...

Great location but unfortunately the caged dogs kept by the owner barked in distress and fear all night. These dogs, some working but others domestic, appear to be kept in very poor conditions.
I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone who can't seeing animals suffering.

Everything a camp site should be in my opinion: rustic, basic facilities, quiet, easy access to a pub, characterful, trusting, easy access to the hills, scenic, the list goes on…

The thing I most like is that an element of trust is given to the camper to pay for their pitch through an honesty box. Yes the facilities are basic but 50p gives you enough time to quickly wash your hair and body in the shower.

Finally if every review were as positive as this the camp site would be ridiculously busy and it’s charm would disappear. Enjoy it. It’s great!

When we arrived there were signs on the door where the owner had DOUBLED the price of stay! When questioned about website prices not matching, the only text I got back was '£8 per night, per person'. That was it.
The campsite was quite, and views were beautiful which was a shame because the facilities were disgusting, obviously not maintained, you could probably catch something from the showers (which you need to pay for...) trading standards would be interested in their prices and I'm sure environmental health would be interested in the state of the toilets/showers!

Nice location and cheap. Most spots are not exactly flat but you can manage. Signage could be improved: there is a big shower sign where there are no showers - they are in fact by the bunk house where the toilets are. Biggest minus point is lack of garbage bins! People will just dump their rubbish in the toilet which is really off putting. For a paid camp site that is road accessible bins should definitely be provided!
