Monmouth Canoe Hire and Activity Centre

Had a brilliant 4 hrs canoeing along the river Wye. Weather was a bonus ( nothing to do with the canoe hire company 😉) and it was such a gentle, peaceful and picturesque experience. The stop halfway along at the Boathouse Inn for refreshments was great (food and coffees excellent!)
Full explanation of the obstacles along the river and a quick run through of our canoe ( for us novices!) was delivered in a professional manner. All the staff very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Equipment very good ( even providing water proof containers for those valuables)
Very reasonable prices. Would definitely do it again, maybe on the longer trip.

Just returned from a adventure filled weekend canoeing. Best of all if you book with them you can camp in there there own campsite by the riverside 10min walk into town

We had a wonderful day learning to kayak on the beautiful and picturesque River Wye. I was amazed at the skills and confidence I achieved at the end of the day. So much to see – swans, signets, black mink, kingfishers, Cormorants. Nigel, our instructor was patient, kind, professional and so knowledgeable about local wildlife and history which made the day even more enjoyable. The weather was perfect. Warm, dry, mostly cloudy so the sun didn’t zap all our energy. We thoroughly enjoyed the day, would recommend Monmouth Canoe Hire and Activity Centre and will be booking to go again soon. Brilliant experience. We hired a 3 person canoe for a half day, from Monmouth to Whitebrook. Good instructions on the route before we set off and collected in a minibus at the end to take us back to the start. Loads of wildlife on the river - Herons, Kingfishers, and my favourite, a Dipper.

Fantastic company to deal with. Sue and Graham with their team make it so easy to organise a day on the river. On the day comprehensive safety briefing, simple instructions and seamless service and we were on the river. The river is so majestic with an abundance of bird life. We saw a couple of Kingfishers that are such a treat. Could not recommend a day on the water with Monmouth Canoe hire enough.

Really friendly, Graham very knowledgeable and gave us a good briefing and advice. We had a wonderful trip up the river from Huntsham to Monmouth, saw Comorants, Herons, Kingfishers, trout, swans and much more. Look out For The Chalet from Sex Education as you go through Symonds Yat. Can stop along the way for picnic which was good. Weather was beautiful, we had a great time and would thoroughly recommend here.

Just got back from a fabulous 2hr canoe along the river. Lovely to see the swans and their signets. As well as many other birds and ducks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite my husband and I being OAP's the 2 hrs was perfect.

Soft play is suitable for a good range of ages which is great for me with a 9 and 3 year old. Food is good quality and coffee delicious. The staff here are always very warm and welcoming and super speedy despite there being an obvious need for more staff .
