Sea Kayaking Anglesey

Time to add a bit more to my previous review since I can't post another one - we've been coming up here now to do courses with Phil once or twice per year (whenever we can) and have progressed from complete beginner to inter-vanced level in that time and it's been brilliant. Phil is great, he has top quality gear (I've realised this is actually pretty rare, since getting into sea kayaking and doing it on holidays - most operators have big plastic stable boats which saves on safety issues and needing to do rescues, but don't handle so well and are nowhere near as much fun to paddle in). Cannot recommend kayaking with Phil enough, and the whole experience is great - excellent low cost accommodation, amazing food at the on-site pub. Every course of been on I've met up with paddlers who have been before and returned, that's because kayaking with Phil is brilliant (Stewart who does the 5 day courses is also a top guy).

Really good weekend - Phil is a friendly, relaxed and very competent instructor with good knowledge of the local area who led our group with ease and skill. We all had an excellent time despite rainy weather and I can't wait to try more sea kayaking. Try the food at the Paddler's Return pub, it's excellent. Good value course and loads of fun. Quality gear provided, just turn up. Highly recommended.

Just completed the intermediate course with a friend, Phil was an excellent instructor/ guide. Wise, calm, realistic, friendly, approachable and has a deep and experienced understanding. Everyone looked after and accommodated for. Builds up your confidence at your pace allowing you to learn but crucially have a lot of fun also. Could not recommend it enough. Thanks for a great weekend.

Phil and Murco took us (9 paddlers) for a 3 day skills building course on the coast around Anglesey / Menai Staits and it was excellent - really, really good instruction and support, lots of advice and guidance on everything from trip planning through to boat and kit maintencance (and of course, paddling skils!). Loved every minute of it.

Completed the intromediate course this weekend, Phil was a fantastic instructor, relaxed and very supportive. It was great to get out around the Anglesey coast and gain confidence in a sea kayak. I’d highly recommend the course to anyone! Thanks a lot Phil! Sean & Jade

I loved the kayaking around the edges of the coastline, you can either book a session with Anglesey outdoors or go out with your own kayaks. Overall I love the coastline and the little paths you can go through the rocks at different tides!

Did the Intromediate weekend in June 2022. Phil was a very supportive and knowledgeable coach who set tasks that would appropriately test comfort zones whilst adding a new skill with each task. I have kayaked for a number of years but can definitely say I learned a number of new skills on this weekend to add to my ability. I'm currently eyeing up attending the Intermediate course at some point

Had two great days playing on the water and learning new skills on the Menai Strait for the intermediate course. With challenging weather forecast for the weekend, and being new to the sport, I didn't think we would get out on the water at all. Very grateful to Phil for making the best of the conditions, varying the teaching on each day and sharing knowledge - from paddle technique, to reading the water, with wildlife and local history as you'd expect from any great instructor! Felt safe, had fun - will be back!

Excellent weekend of coaching with Phil on the Menai Strait. Highly recommended and will definitely be back in the spring for some more coaching.
