Coastal Spirit

Since I started sea kayaking in 2012 I I've been on several courses with Roger. Always learning so much, always feel that I'm progressing. Great teacher, super calm, super focused. Can't recommend him enough. Masses of local knowledge, providing a great environment for learning in conditions that bring out the best in me. And not a bad photographer!! See below! Cheers Rog.

I have paddling with Roger for 2 or 3 years now and it has been a great experience. He is very focused on what you need as a paddler and how to give you the right level of challenge. I always recommend him to my friends and organise groups to paddle with him.

I've been coached by Roger for a number of years now. His knowledge and coaching skills are top notch and he ensures you always get what you want out of a course. I'd recommend Coastal Spirit to anyone and where better to learn than the beautiful island of Anglesey.

I highly recommend Coastal Spirit. This weekend I completed my Three Star Sea Kayak award and I can honestly say, what a blast. At no point did it feel like a test, on going learning and assessment through the weekend and I’ve come out of it a better paddler. I look forward to completing more steps along my paddling journey with Coastal Spirit.

Roger ran a bespoke course for the sea kayak personal award for me and a friend during four days. We came all the way from Sweden and there were quite some logistics to it which Roger handled superbly. In addition, the course, feedback and coaching was excellent. It was also very pleasant and inspiring spending time with Roger and seeing his enthusiasm and engagement in the sport. I am already looking forward to coming back in the future.

Needed a great sea kayaking coach to mentor me in competing in the Yukon Rover Quest. I chose bespoke 121 days with Roger and his Company Coastal Spirit out of anglesey. A great socailly distanced learning experience.

His knowledge and ability to teach the knowledge needed is astounding. A world leader in sea kayak coaching and leading expeditions. Simply put, You can tell.There are many more solo sessions to come. However, I can safely say I finished these two days empowered, upskilled and smiling knowing I am safer and at a more competative level.

Have done a few courses with Roger at Coastal Spirit. Very structured sessions based around what you want to learn and where you are trying to get to. Roger has an amazing coaching style, you'll have so much fun, meet some great fellow paddlers, you'll push yourself out of your comfort zone and learn great new skills without feeling like you are being constantly coached. Roger is very attentive and observant and despite being part of a group you will feel like you have had a very tailored experience. Will keep going back to Coastal Spirit as every time my paddling skills and confidence improve significantly..

Had a 1:1 season with Roger. Top coach, learned loads in 2 days. Will be back, determined to get my Sea Kayaking Award now.
