Well worth the 3 hour journey! I bought a car from Oakwood 4 months ago, the car has been fantastic. These guys really do know their cars, you can tell they have a passion for the job. I have since referred a friend there who has has bought another fantastic Jaguar. Last week I called them to locate a car for my wife and yesterday I collected it. I was delighted yesterday, as was my wife.
Danny, Liam, thanks for your help and I'll be back for that M3 in your showroom!

I bought my Honda Civic type R from here and it was quite a nice experience. They aren't pushy sales men they leave you alone to look around. Through the whole sales process they were kind and really good with my 5yr old keeping him entertained. When I left with the car I took it to the petrol station but the car wouldn't restart again because the battery died, so I called them and they came straight out, and sorted me with a brand new battery free of charge. The only negative was they'd misplaced the service book but apart from that a good car purchasing experience! :) recommended.

Purchased my car just under 2 years ago now from Oakwood. Placed a deposit and asked if they could change the cambelt for me, which i was willing to pay for myself, prior to picking up.

I live around 30 miles from the garage, so I went to pick up the car on the agreed date. The work I requested was done...however this broke the car completely as their garage of choice got everything wrong. The car broke down as Karl drove it up the ramp toward me and it was rolled embarrassingly into the garage next door.

I foolishly gave them the benefit of the doubt, as they offered to repair the repairs...so I returned again (another 60 mile round trip) to find the car was STILL not ready on the second agreed date. This happened once more again before I finally got the car.

Driving home I realised there was some sort of issue with the clutch. It took me around 3 months of pestering before they agreed to look at the issue; Karl ‘kindly’ sorted the work to be done with his RAC warranty contact.

I thanked Karl (even giving him some money to get a few beers as a thanks - I know, I must have ‘mug’ on my forehead) before heading to the garage. Only problem was, they refused to do the work when they found out it would cost around £400! Various excuses were made and as a ‘goodwill gesture’ they fixed the heater which was also broken. The heater lasted around 4 weeks before the exact same issue came back (obviously some cheap fix was done), so I went to a proper garage, where needless to say their repairs have lasted.

A few months down the line it failed the MOT as the brake pads and discs were in a horrendous condition, after I had done under a thousand miles. This cost me a further £800 as there were issues with the callipers too. This led to another phonecall where Karl showed his true colours with a few threats - he is a classy chap!

As of today, I still have the clutch problem, as I lost all love for my dream car and can’t bring myself to spend anymore money on it.

I still have a bitter taste in my mouth whenever I think of Oakwood, but I took great delight in telling a work colleague not to buy a very expensive car from them which they were all set to buy.

For the purposes of keeping this relatively brief, I left out a number of other issues and broken promises. Long story short - avoid this place. Plenty of flash cars which look the part but they’re often hiding problems and the sales staff and owner are disgusting. I hope your awful practices catch up with you and continue to hit you in your pocket.

Had a great experience viewing a car at this garage, they gave me space to look over the car for as long as I wanted but were there when I wanted a hand. They also had no problems giving me a decent length test drive. I didn't buy the car in the end, but only because I later viewed on in a colour I preferred - I would have no problems buying a car from these guys.

Arranged to pick my car up yesterday and was running late due to a motorway closure. I finally got there shortly after their closing time expecting to make the 200mile round trip again but they stayed open on a Friday night to wait for me no questions asked.

Cars spotless inside and out (looks better than the photos)

Bought with 12 months MOT, I checked the certificate online just out of habit of buying cars and saw 'advisories' that three tyres were close to legal limit worn on edge; I didn't challenge this as the car was priced well to start with. But to my surprise the car had all new tyres when I turned up.

Began all good and appreciated the communication and delivery service from them... however after receiving and looking at the car properly, i can see one of the tires is barely legal if legal at all! Wouldn't be bothered if this was mentioned in the phone call or price but was told everything was good. Also they advertised the mileage at 68K but when I got the car it had 75K on the clock which takes £50-100 at least off of the value of the car, questioned all of this and the response was basically 'I should be happy with what I paid because its good value' and that was it.

I should have read the previous reviews prior to making a call to this company. I traveled 3 hours to see this car. I test drove the car and then did the deal. However as soon as I got on the motor way the car was shuddering so badly I had to pull over numerous times to stop myself throwing up. I called the garage, no reply. Managed to get home and take it to a local garage who advised that there were numerous things wrong with the car that needed to be rectified. Once I called the garage to explain the situation, I was advised that if I wanted to return the car I should contact my “solicitor”. After that any contact from myself to the company was never reciprocated. The only way the situation was rectified was by speaking to the finance company who advised they would pay for the repairs and chase this from the company.

Read the reviews before even contemplating this place.

If I could rate in minus numbers I would!! Seem like a good garage when purchasing a car! As soon as they have your money and something goes wrong they are not as friendly. Told them my coolant was emptying after one trip... I was told that this was part and parcel of driving a car. Took the car back to be told they have ran it and nothing is wrong. I took it to an external garage who actually found that the water pump was broken, the head gasket has gone, as well as the timing belt and auxiliary belt needed replacing! Phoned them back to be told that they found nothing wrong when looking over it! £1300 and 2 weeks in the external garage later and I have my car back! Absolutely horrendous people skills once the money is in their back pocket. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
