I think the reviews on Autotrader also speak for themselves.
I also feel that if there was an issue with the car, they would do what they can to help resolve the issue where possible.
Keep up the good work guys.👍👍
I went to view an Audi A1 that was listed on autotrader. The description advised the vehicle had been kept in ‘meticulous condition by the previous 2 owners’. The mileage was below average for the age of the car... which I thought was a bonus! (I’m incredibly inexperienced when it comes to mechanics and cars)
I inspected the car with my friend and my dad and we all thought it was fine. I took the car on a test drive and realised that there was hardly any power in first gear - but this was my second ever car and before I owned a corsa. So I thought it might’ve been normal in these much more upmarket, powerful cars. So naturally I thought nothing of it and relished in the sugar rush that was a new Audi A1! I agreed a price with them and was expecting to pick it up the following Thursday.
The dealership was pretty cooperative with me up until the Thursday I was meant to collect. They advised the MOT was done and it was waiting on a wheel alignment so I couldn’t pick it up until the Friday. I was annoyed but it’s fine, the car needs to be perfect. This is when the texts received from the dealership became fewer and fewer. I text the guy who did the sale (didn’t get his name. His brother who showed me the car is named Dhillon) on the Friday morning and I got nothing. No response until the afternoon to which he advised the garage has been extremely busy due to COVID???? (Like, what? 😂) and they will look at the Audi first thing Saturday morning.
Saturday morning comes. They don’t text me whatsoever until around 4pm advising that the car will 100% be ready on Sunday and I can collect in the morning. At this point I’m pretty fuming and I just want my damn car. I go to collect on Sunday and then a whole other hell broke loose.
2 minutes off of the MOTORWAY on my way home the engine in the car completely blows on me. Oil pouring out of the rear of the car and all over the dual carriageway I was driving on. The car wouldn’t even move. There was no limp mode, I was just completely stationary in the middle of a dual carriageway. I was frightened as hell. I called the garage in a state of panic to which they responded with ‘Don’t raise your voice at us’ ‘don’t get shirty with us’ and not a pinch of sympathy or help offered.
I was devastated at this point. I had no idea what to do or who to call. A woman who had nearly crashed her car slipping in the oil that had spilled from the Audi kindly pulled up next to me and helped me literally roll the car off the road (if you’re reading this which I highly doubt you are, you are my angel!) and into a lay by. I left the car there for the garage to pick up.
To make matters worse - once the finance had been agreed and the money paid out from the financiers (close brothers ltd) the garage then tried to say that what had happened to the car was my fault!!! Causing 2 months of back and forth legalities with myself and the financiers. The financiers got their own private mechanic to review the car to which they advised was not my fault and there was a considerable amount of wear in the car. They have completely scammed me and continued to try to do so after the car had broken down.
ALSO - if you’re reading this Discount cars ltd - what have you done with my driving license? And when are you going to pay for the expense of losing it? I gave this to you as a holding deposit until my payday and you have since lost the license with absolutely no explanation other than ‘we left it at the pub you left the car at’. I want you to contact me DIRECTLY for a refund on my driving license that YOU lost.
The worst imaginable regards,
Lewis Oliver
Having seen the car first on AutoTrader I called Discount Cars Limited to arrange to come and view the car. On arriving to view the car the team was incredibly helpful, but most importantly they were not pushy in any way. This allowed myself and my dad to inspect the car and take it for a test drive without feeling watched over or pushed into a purchase.
When I decided I was happy with the car, again the staff were brilliant. There was a minor issue with paperwork from the previous owner not being available (which was out of Discount Cars Limited control) so sadly I was not able to purchase the car at that moment. However they worked to collate all of the relevant paperwork for me and I returned a week later to complete the purchase.
I found the price of the car to be more than reasonable compared to other options on the market, so much so I feared it was too good to be true. However this was not the case, I have now owned the car for 9 months and have been absolutely delighted with it. It has just passed its first MOT with me with flying colours and I couldn't be happier.
Thanks again for sorting me out with the perfect car!
It was a pleasure to buy from him and the car drives beautifully, would highly recommend
