Its always a bit daunting buying a new car as someone who doesn't know a great deal about cars, but I bought a VWgolf a few months ago and haven't had a single issue. The cam belt was 5 years overdue but I bought the car knowing this and got it sorted ASAP! Still very happy with my purchase and would recommend!

OK so here I am nearly 2 years down the road and the car we bought has finally gone to the big scrapyard in the sky. It spent nearly 12 months sat on the drive after it catastrophically failed its MOT and only covering 6000 miles in a year and spending close to £2000 in the first 12 months of ownership. Although I do not blame the dealership at all, the garage that MOT'd the vehicle prior to my purchase, be wary. You do not go from a clean MOT with no advisories to over £1500 worth work and an advisory list as long as your arm in a short period of time and little mileage.
