VW T5 4motion limp mode multiple times on the way home, wobbly prop shaft (video evidence from garage who inspected it whilst checking the limp mode problem), clouds of smoke after my first cold start and a diesel leak dripping all over the place all within the first week of ownership. He offered to see if the they were real problems (despite the video and photo evidence shared with him) if I drove it back to him (3.5 hour drive during lockdown with diesel leaking and cough inducing fumes in the cab) and left it for two days. Point blank refused to help toward cost of parts even after seeing a garage report.

Also failed to mention he had removed parts from the car (ply lining and carpeting along with roof rack bars) before I got there.

Advertised as having a full service history which it looks to have on first inspection but a more detailed look exposed that as a fib too.

Very much Caveat Emptor.

Shoddy workman ship. Cowboy comes to mind. Where to even start. Electrics DANGEROUS use the thinest wire he could find going from the battery to the fuse boards.two auto electrician couldn't believe their eyes. He did not do what I asked he did not use what I asked. Told me he was going to use two layers of bubble insulation guess what he did not do that. Didn't use ply board instead used hard board which is contracts and expands with heat and moisture and guess what campervans suffer from condensation so they will be useless in 12 months. He fitted a leisure battery under the seat and did not use battery terminal covers and Should the metal seat have touched one of those then BOOM. Flooring not fitted properly bubbles under foot leaks coming into the van etc etc. Off to the small claims court. AVOID THIS GUY

Recently bought a van from David at Db Autos and very happy with the sale
He was good enough to sort out a few niggles before I collected the van
I’ve since returned to have a full t5.1 facelift , fully carpeted windows fitted and coilovers , all done at a very reasonable price and excellent craftsmanship.
Pop top next David book me in 😉

Do not risk it

We had an issue with the car we bought and tried to ring Dave to see if he could fix it for us.
Didn’t answer phone, didn’t respond to messages left, couldn’t get through on the landline.
Such a shame as we bought from him as he was so helpful and accommodating, however this is not the case once he has got your money.
Not the cheapest we could have paid for the car but bought it from him as thought we would have some come back. I wouldn’t buy from this man or garage again.

Bought a T5, got told the rear sensors didn't work due to a recent spray job and they just needed cleaning off.. Found out that all the wires to the sensors had been cut! The van overall is good but I wish I took more time to check it over. IF you buy, double check everything!

Took my Merc AMG A35 into the garage for brake issue, Great job fast and friendly and a fair price will definitely go back again!
