Matt at Dark Horse Detailing has done an amazing job on my car. I went to see him to get my 7 year old BMW polished and ceramic coated. Matt looked over the car with me and took paint readings and went over what the best options were for me. The job took 4 days to complete and Matt kept me updated every step of the process. The end results speak for themselves. All the swirl marks from previous poor washing techniques are gone and with the ceramic coating applied the car looks super glossy. The interior was also done and it looks like a brand new car.

I really couldn't be happier with the results. Matt is really friendly and knowledgeable and he takes pride in his work. If you're on the fence about whether to get your car done, do it. I didn't think my car looked that bad before I took it to Matt, but after he finished his work the difference is night and day. The car really is gleaming now. I'll be returning for all the required maintenance washes. I can't recommend these guys enough!

Myself and a colleague recently attended the Dark Horse Detailing two day “training course” (ran by Matt and Tab). The course was excellent and far exceeded my expectations - Matt’s skill, experience and enthusiasm shone throughout the whole training course.

For “weekend warriors” or detailers looking to gain experience with Machine Polishing – this is the course for you!

The course covered the many aspects of car detailing. Over the two days, focus was spent on the theory and then practical (hands-on) experience of thoroughly cleaning the outside of a vehicle (including decontamination and clay barring) followed by machine polishing and then finally applying waxes & protective compounds.

Several sessions covered how to use the various types of Machine Polishing machines, polishing pads and polishing compounds using test panels. Various scenarios were also covered to show how different types of paint damage and different approaches (one stage, two stage & “flat and polish”) could be used to attempt to repair different levels of damage.

The course concluded with machine polishing “half a car” to gain experience on how to hold and use the different Machine Polishers and the correct techniques to use when polishing horizontal, vertical and curved panels.

Without a doubt, this course has given me the knowledge and confidence to machine polish my own cars.
