I took my bike to this place because of a starting issue. They charged me £50 to change a spark plug. The next day it broke down. So they had it back and they had it a month. Yes a month. I rang them so many times for a update and was told they were waiting on parts. Charged me £201 and it broke down the next day. I took it back and had to ring them 3 days later to find out how it was going. Was told we haven't looked at it yet and are planning to take it to a motorcycle shop. What a joke! I have cut my losses with these jokers and asked for my money back. I received £90 minus the £47 an hour labour and vat they charged me. I agree with paying for an oil change. So about £160 for a spark plug and oil. If you want your vehicle fixing go to a proper garage who will treat every customer as important as the next.

Just to let you know the other motorbike garage I took my bike to fixed the problem in one hour....proves we shouldn't bother with second rate garages like melton mot centre

AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Took car in with engine management light on , after charging me for a new turbo I late found out a new turbo was not fitted and engine management light continued to come on. I took the car back over 4 times when you then say to yourself, when is enough enough, it was quite clear they could not only do the job, not having a new part fitted when you had paid for one was beyond belief. I contacted them and asked for a refund and of course they refused . I took it to the small claims court and had the judgement in my favour however they still refused to refund me and stated that Melton MOT centre Ltd was no longer trading but the signs are still up and staff are still working as business as usual. They are just using the umbrella of the Parent company- Grantham MOT to avoid paying. So if you want to take your car here and deal with these cowboys, be prepared for a headache and over the top charges when you do.

Needed new brake pads and discs eurgently, so I rang Melton MOT Centre to explain my issue and how I needed to get the car in today (Saturday). I was expected to be turned away because of the short notice, by they understood my issue and asked me how soon I could get it in. Although they seemed busy and closed in a couple of hours, they sqeezed me in and got the car back to me just before they closed. I am really happy with the service, they we're genuine and happy to help - at a much better price than I was expecting too!

If using this garage, check the work you ask to be done is actually carried out. We requested some MOT advisory work and a failure to be sorted in 2019, only for the car to fail on the advisories in 2020. Turned out although the work was on the invoice, they hadn't done the work. After a week without a car sorting it out which when you have a 2year old is not convenient at the best of times, they agreed to pay for the work elsewhere as they were too busy. We then had to wait 2 weeks to receive a cheque covering the cost. No apology. Won't be using these again.

Took our car to this garage recently for an MOT & it failed on some minor issues to do with the headlights. Fair enough we were told that we could rebook within 10 days for a retest as is standard. We took the car away & the work was done to fix the issues. Rang up around four days before the 10 day deadline and was told that it couldn’t be booked in for a retest, we had to ring up on the morning to see if they could fit us in that day. Upon ringing up the morning we wanted to take it back in we were informed they wouldn’t be able to fit us in for another 6 days which took us over the time we had to have the car retested & when we said about being told that we had to ring up on the morning he said the lady should not have told us that as it’s incorrect! Needless to say we took our car to another local garage for an MOT the same day (as luckily they’d had a cancellation & could fit us in) and it passed with flying colours! We won’t be using Melton MOT centre again for sure!

WASTE OF TIME . I was there with my scooter to replace the air filter, first they postponed the appointment without giving a reason, and on the second date, they kept my scooter 1.5h without doing anything, giving me the keys, there was no explanation why they did not take up the replacement, they told me to do it in the garage what I was buying. I DO NOT RECOMMEND stay away

Have used this garage for the last 5 years and can’t praise them enough, they are always fair and try to do the best job then can for you. Bill especially is one of the most trustworthy mechanics you could wish to have taking care of your car.
