Pleasantly surprised. On holiday in Great Yarmouth and realised our MOT was due. We asked a local shop owner where they took their car and they said Halfords. Managed to book an MOT and service for the next day. Everything was online and easily explained including cost. MOT was more expensive but it came off the service which was well priced. Very pleased with the service I received and would use again.

Poor experience. Booked in a slot at a specified time, then was then advised when I arrived it would be another 2 hours until my car would be worked on. Had to sit and wait, staff had zero hospitality skills either. They've definitely lost my custom. Avoid.

Had an MOT done today and the service was quick but was told it failed but when i asked do you do a free retest i was told yes if you get it done within 24 hours. I'm definitely not going to be able to get the work done in 24 hours definitely won't be be going there again lost my custom.

Avoid over priced for repairs
Ripoff Garage car failed Mot quoted £400 for repair plus advised cat battery needs replacing £180 cost on top
Took the car to local garage had the mot work done £150 also asked to check battery as I was very dubious about battery car starts 1st time no problems lights bright full
The garage advised nothing is wrong with battery no need to replace the battery

Also charge £15 for Mot retest first time ever I had to pay for a retest I would get new Mot but as I have already paid £40 I'll have to swallow the cost

Free retest if done within 24 hours who can have the car repaired and retested within 24H
They wouldn't do it probably they would say they have no free space
Also appointment was 8.30am car not ready till 4.00pm
Avoid at all cost!! 💩💩

Charge you 50 quid or more to do a diagnostic on your car, when you haven't asked for a diagnostic to check it in the first place. Website says it's to hook up computer to car and run a test. But my car is too old to have a computer scan it and run a diagnostic so what's the charge for? If it's to charge you to look at the car and tell you what's wrong with it, then I already did it when I brought the car in and told them what was wrong with it already, it wasn't a mystery in that it needed investigating, it was glaringly obvious. Again what's the charge for? Otherwise they fit items quickly and have a nice payment plan option. The charges are just a bit cheeky for me. Not had this charging from other garages.

Booked our car in online for its MOT. Greeted by a very friendly, cheerful staff member. 1 hr later got a call to collect our car with the good news that it’d passed and because I was a member of Halfords Motoring Club I also received £10 discount. Great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this service.

Mixed emotions here, so my car went for 4 tyres and front alignment. Dropped off 15 mins early and told it will be straight on and around 1hr 15.
Great I thought, took my kids shopping, returned a hour and fifteen later and they're still working. No problem.

After 20 mins I realised that they were only just completing one tyre, thr technician pulled it from being balanced rolled it over to a colleague, sat on the wheel and proceeded to talk to his colleague for 10 mins.

The lady on Reception went to check how long it will be, came back and said at least another hour and half. At this point I complained and explained she had told me a hour and fifteen originally. She denied this and told me i was wrong.

The manager then came in and I asked about the progress assuming after this time the alignment was completed to find out it wasn't.

I pointed out how has one tyre been done and nothing else in around a hour and half. He told me the technician is on the 3rd tyre now, hold on, I literally watched him take the 2nd wheel.

One wheel with a new tyre, one being done at that moment then two with old tyres sat on the floor. Now maths isn't my strong point but that was blatant lie.

I explained again I was told 1hr 15 to which he told me i was wrong. At this point I left because I did not want to get into a argument infront of my children.

Now bear on mind 1.5hrs to change one trye, then told at minimum 1.5 hrs to finish.

Oddly after 45 minutes I got a call saying its all done.

I feel I was lead down the road them thinking I was ignorant to the process, as soon as I complained it suddenly was done.

Mixed emotions here, likely will never use them again.

Ordered online, took less than an hour for 2 rear tyres to be replaced and a full report emailed. Would recommend
