Looking at the previous comments here, I am not hopeful. But they should know that people need their cars for their life. Especially as a Minicab driver I need my car to earn money for my children.
so... a couple of items from my personal experience
1) Thieving collection agents - I was told the repair would be £250 and left that amount in cash with my partner - the collection driver took £250, from my partner, but his paperwork only said £200 so he only handed £200 into his office. Does that count as theft? I think it does
2) Repairs not done - the repair should have included fixing a broken lens assembly. they didnt bother - it took about 3 months of constant emails to get them to finally do something they should have done originally
3) Lasting problems with repair - the original problem was with my drivers side auto-locking mechanism - after the original problem was sorted, there was an intermittent problem with the passenger side locking mechanism, which is still not sorted
4) No Paperwork - I have never received any paperwork, invoice, guarantee or even written acknowledgement that my car was repaired by them - just a long (long, long) list of backward and forward emails
In short, I am only giving them 1 star because you cant leave a review with zero stars
{edit} I see the owner has come out of the woodwork and started responding to old reviews. Hopefully, it is because people are starting to respond to these reviews and boycott these cowboys. I certainly warn anyone about this place when I can.
My review is true. the collection agent stole £50 - that is a fact. It was the grossly fat one (if that helps & if he is still there) and it was reported to the male telephone receptionist as soon as I saw the collection paperwork.... his words were 'he only handed in £200 which is what we expected, so there's no proof he took anything else'. As far as he was concerned case closed - which I regard as aiding and abetting a thief.
They took ages to respond to complaints and my car had to go back months after the original repair to get a lens assembly fixed DESPITE IT BEING ON THE ORIGINAL LIST TO BE DONE. I have never had any paperwork from them at the close of the repairs and I would not trust them to honour any supposed warranty.
the door lock was an issue because the original repair was for a break in, It seems likely that they tried the passenger side before the drivers side. in any case, the central locking for the passenger door was working before the burglary and not working when we got it back from Peter James. The best spin you can give this, is that they didn't test it or didn't care to let me know it was a problem
ignore the weasel words of the owner, and when you see a 5 star review of these cowboys, treat it with extreme caution.
