SIXT Car & Van Hire - Southampton Airport

We recently had a great experience hiring a car from SIXT at Southampton Airport. Dilraj was awesome, can't recall when we have ever had better customer service. As there were no customers booked in following us, Dilraj even escorted us to the car. Julian who arranged things for us was also very accommodating and making a late change in the vehicle was very much appreciated due to our luggage requirements. The car was great and the whole process was seamless. We also had the flexibility of dropping the car off in London. Would thoroughly recommend the SIXT team at Southampton Airport. Regards Joe

For anyone dropping off a vehicle out of hours, you need to enter the paid official multistory southampton airport parking which is located down the road. (See google). Once in there try and follow the signage to sixt and park in any bay you find. The key box to drop the key had moved and is now opposite the parking pay machines before you reach the airport terminal.

All the information online is wrong, the address of the drop off is not on wide lane, and the key box is not in the terminal building opposite the check in desks as it states on the website. Hope this helps someone else have a better faster experience than me.

Utter shambles.

Be careful.... they took money out from me a week AFTER the car was returned. "That's just how we work" was there response. This was not explained to me when I took it out and I've hired hundreds of cars before. Also the "lucky dip" option is a con. I got a rubbish car that had some features that were dangerous in my opinion and a car that was under powered and over expensive to fuel. Go elsewhere. I will be

Probably the worst Car Rental service in my life ....

They pulled the classic trick: booked a limousine and they tried to give me a Fiat 500 .... Had to pay about 25 GBP per day to get it upgrated so I can fit my wife, child and luggage for traveling.

No staff or indications regarding drop-off ... Horrible experience

Great staff at the booking desk and returns in Southampton airport. Good car, full tank of fuel, will definitely rent cars here again.

Very good experience all through the process. Excellent car, not sure if it was an upgrade but was top of the range. Expertly Managed by Bobby who was professional, polite and very friendly.

Hired a car here for a few days for a family wedding in Kent. We decided to do the Lucky dip option of a high end car. We were not disappointed. The service was above and beyond, and johnathan Lees was attentive personal, would highly reccomend. The car we got was BMW 3series Msport, was Amazing, plush inside and comfortable, and lovely to drive in. Will be using this company again.

Convenient location. Sixt rates and cars are good, in general.
But confusion over what car was booked online overseas, to what equivalent car was offered in UK. Not the same.
Somewhat helpful staff, but could not offer the original car booked, without an upgrade and expense. Car offered was inappropriate and uncomfortable for a family of 4.
