Excellent service they went out of their way to get me a white car for my daughters Prom

Great car, good service but the only downside was that the satnav in the car took us down a bus lane. My partners credit card was on the system and Thrifty charged an administrative fee, but without any warning or at least telling us that it was going to happen. We had no idea until WE had to ask about it which I view as quite poor customer service - we would have happily paid it, and have since paid the penalty in full. However, it would have been nice for someone in the team to tell us it was happening rather than charging us and having us have to contact them.

Very nice staff always kind, they take very good care of good customers.
I got a couple of nice upgrades, they did not have the cheap car I asked for so they did not hesitate in giving me a BMW, Mercedes and Golf GTI. Great customer service.

Once they spotted a scratch in the front bumper. I did not make it, probably somebody parking but I was totally fine paying for it. The manager finally said it was fine, no problem. That was very cool.

Not a single complain. I will rent with them even if there are cheaper options.

My wife received a phone call at 8am this morning, on drop off day whilst I was getting the kids ready for school so was unable to take the call. I phoned back at 9-30am to provide the details they requested and they said they had cancelled the contract & that I would no longer be supplied with a courtesy car. Apparently this was because I had refused to supply bank details, despite the fact I personally did not speak to anyone. Absolutely disgusting. When I queried this the supervisor 'Robbie' was arrogant, rude and could not justify his actions whatsoever, simply refusing to answer my questions and eventually hung up on me. No help, no advice, just a repeated "Contact your insurance company" The worst customer service I have ever experienced.

A rude and disinterested staff lazily explained why they wouldn't let us take the car we rented, due to their unusually tight id rules which require utility bills and bank statements. The only time they smile is when they're explaining why they can't help you.
Avoid them.

I've been using thrifty for a few years and have been a very loyal customer. I am really disappointed with their level of service today I. booked a luxury car for the week away with my Mrs was supposedly upgraded to a hideous suv and £250 extra deposit. When I asked to downgrade to the a5 they were meant to give me I was told they had no cars available and this was my only option. They didn't seem to have a care in the world to resolve the situation or at least try to compensate for their misleading advertising of vehicles. After todays experience I would not personally use them again nor recommend to anyone else.

Would not recommend using this company-advise going elsewhere for car rental in Southampton! Car hire arranged for 19 to 22 May 2020. Vehicle delivered on 19 May 2020 with 7/8 of a tank of fuel as noted on the paperwork provided by the driver. Vehicle returned as agreed on 22 May 2020 with 7/8 of a tank of fuel. Thrifty Southampton then decided to take a refuelling charge from my account without informing me. I phoned to query the charge on 26 May 2020 and after 'investigation' I was promised a refund on 27 May 2020 as the charge had been incorrectly taken. I followed up by email on 12 June 2020 and 19 June 2020 but still no refund has been forthcoming.

They tried to tell us we had damaged the rim of the wheel - their own photo was too poor to show, but our dated photo showed the damage was already there when the car arrived with us. They apologised, but the accusation should not have been made.
