I was in London for 10 days, and rented twice from GMCVR out of Hilton Metropole London. Cars were clean and in great condition, but most of all service from Sean K was friendly and helpful. The cars rented were the VW ID.3 the electric car and the Fiat 500 manual.

They were for long distance and Sean explained the e-car well, and was helpful with questions on parking and ULEZ and Congestion charges.

Will return!

The worst customer service experience we have had ever while renting a car. They just wanted to sell a higher value package to us and made sure to give all reasons to not accept any of our credit cards. The representative there started mentioning new rules and policies which aren’t mentioned even on the website through which we had made the booking and denied to give us the car and made us wait for a lot of time. I would recommend to go for other car rental services like Avis Enterprise which have great customer service and value for money. I really wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Horrible customer service, zero value of time and money plus such a harassment for a tourist who isn’t new to a car rental service and how it works.

The policies are there (£2,500 excess cover, not accepting Amex etc) to set you up for unforeseen charges. I rented an SUV which did not turn up due to another customer booking ending the exact minute of my rental starting and then being late. This meant a different smaller vehicle but no refund was offered just a quarter tank of petrol. The booking and drop off process is long and unnecessary with an hour wait to pickup and 30 minutes to drop off. The amount of people moaning should give you the motivation to sort it out Green Motion!

The car we received was great. It was brand new and it worked like a charm. The collection process was slow with long waiting times. They had car seats for an additional charge which was great as we were travelling with a toddler.

Be careful when choosing the refuelling option, it may work out cheaper to refuel yourself however the person at the desk advised me to take the no frills option for £60 where you can bring the car back in at any fuel level. If you will not be doing a lot of driving I would suggest closely considering both options before picking one. Otherwise a good rental experience.

I had to pay additional £165 as I needed to pick up the car with my debit card. They didn’t accept my credit card which was only valid for another 2 months. Before you book check your credit card valid date!!! They are making good money if there is an issue with your credit card- better to book directly with another company. I also needed to check the pressure of the tyres as one tyre was down to 10!!!

When I picked up the car the gentleman was great and very nice. He told me to look for for damage before I left and there was a scratch on one of the wheels. I told him about this and he marked it down. When we returned the car the man in the parkade was over looking the car for damage. Then he got on his knees at the front of the car and said there was damage to the bottom of the bumper. You could not see this standing up. When I went to the front desk they told me I should have got on my knees and took pictures before I left. I could not believe this and the scratch was less then 4 cm. Then they charged my credit card 400 euros. I asked to talk to the manager and I asked him to come to the car with me but he would not come down to see the scratch. If you decide to rent from them don’t forget to get on your hands and knees and take photos before you drive away.
I don’t recommend this place at all as there was another gentleman beside me and the same thing happen to him.

I have been hiring from Green Motion for the past couple of years. Their office on Edgware Road is super convenient. The price, for central London is very good, and I must say their customer service has improved a lot recently. The guys are very efficient and friendly. I dropped back a car this morning and must say I was very impressed with the service (with a smile) from Sean. I hire a lot from them and they always remember me, which is nice. I hope the standards remain like this.

I wish I had read these reviews before booking! Despite a vehicle that was nice, which we returned early, Next day I was then charged a late return fee. ? There is no phone number to call & a ridiculous pre-recorded message that goes on for eternity. Also they charged me more for not having a credit card for the deposit. I would NOT recommend.
