Motor Vehicle Services & Molesey Van Hire Ltd

I prebooked a Van for Saturday - following information on the website and on google local that the place was open from 8am - 6pm daily.

I had plans Saturday morning and planned to pick the van up around 1pm. At 9.00am on Saturday morning, the day i was due to pick the van up I recieved what can best be described as an "angry" phonecall from the owner informing me he was leaving at 10 and I should hurry up. A little suprised and irritated that the owner had not informed me of this when I booked the van, I darted out of the house to pick up the van, when I got there I found a note on the door saying "back in 10 mins" - a little irritating considering the phone call I had recieved 5 mins before. After 20 mins of waiting the owner turned up grumbling about not having 30 seconds to himself. I said hi and he grunted back at me, I was a little unsure what to do at this point, then he turned around and barked "you comin then" at me.

I followed him upstairs and spent 10 mins going through the details he needed, presented him with a driving licence and various credit cards, he said that's not enough and I would need an letter with the same address as was displayed on the driving licence - things i would likely have had with me had i not been rushed out of the house by his rude phone call. As I had originally planned to pick the van up in the afternoon, i politely apologised and left feeling irritated further that i had wasted my time.

I continued with my plans (which at this point were delayed considerably) and once I had a moment called the owner back and advised I had the letter and could I pick the van up later that afternoon as the opening times clearly stated they were open till 6pm - he shouted no down the phone and said i'm busy, i said "ok mate, no problem how about sunday" he responded, no not open sunday and then slammed the phone down on me.

Following this i called the next Van Hire place which is just a moment away from Molsey Van hire, a place called Parkhurst, who were helpful accomodating and even apologetic that i'd had such a bad experience with the first place, they told me to pop in and got me on my way, and they were £5.00 cheaper than Molesy Van Hire. Do yourself a favour, don't even pick up the phone to Molsey Van Hire, it's not worth all the abuse.
