Thrifty Car and Van Rental Salisbury

A company not to be trusted! One of their employees clipped the side of my brand new car whilst I was stationary and later denied any responsibility. The damage was minor and cost 100 quid to repair so well done thrifty and Scott group insurance, you must be very proud of yourselves but would it really have hurt you to do the decent thing?

Highly frustrating experience, ending with me cancelling the booking and going to Enterprise who were fantastic,.

A very friendly and good value car service. Prices are usually cheaper than other online quotes. Vehicles ate modern and good quality. Book online and pay in advance for a discount, but it's worth noting that unless you want a £1,250 liability for an accident you will need to invest £20 in a collision damage waiver.

My organisation has now hired around 8 cars from Thrifty Salisbury in the last 12 months. Only one has an actual car been delivered. Twice no vehicle at all has been delivered all the other occasions I’ve been given vans from small to transit types. Totally useless organisation. - Only this week they promised me a car not a van and yet failed to provide any vehicle at all. I’ll do everything I can to stop my organisation using this company and if you are a private renter it’s my recommendation to simply go elsewhere. This company is totally unreliable and not deserving of your business.

Well unfortunately I’ve been forced to use this company again. At least they turned up this time and with a car!!!! Nice. Shame it was absolutely filthy.

Update at 5 Sept 22

So todays hire was 2 1/2hrs late and came with a total of 24 separate scratches and dents. Plus only 3/4 fuel and was filthy outside. Though it was clean inside.

This company is simply a joke and deserves to go out of business. They don’t even have a complaints procedure-

Didn't even get to hiring a van as I was looking at the vehicles and was suddenly told it wasn't a footpath, he could've run me over and then shouted GET OUT as aggressively as he could all hanging out of a van window. I was with my wife and child and was in no way causing any obstruction, just looking at the van sizes. Obviously went elsewhere and we were stunned as to the aggressive and rude nature of the man who's customer skills were somewhat lacking to say the least. Avoid at all costs unless you like being verbally abused by the staff. Zero stars not available unfortunately.

I had £1000 taken from my account due to a collision. I understand this money is the deposit and excess, but I was told the repairs would take 3-5 days max. It's now been 29 days, I haven't heard from the company since June 30th, the person in charge has apparently left the company and didn't leave anybody in CC, I've forwarded this email to several addresses, no one has gotten back to me, and I've been calling everyday for a week without anyone ever picking up.

We rented and they took 1000£ deposit and its been 29 days and they did not get back to us or returned the deposit. No email
