The experience could be good if they were not begging for money. I know it's normal to ask for a security deposit on your credit card, but they say they need to keep your money for 1 month before refunding you. WHY would they need to keep your money for 1 month when you have used the car just for 3 days? of course it's because they have a perfect solution to avoid this: pay more money to reduce the security deposit. what a joke. next time for sure I will choose another company to hire a car.

don't book there at the Green Motion Car Station at Luton Airport. I took a car and the guy was checking the car for damages for me, played very friendly, and when I returned the car 24h later there was a small scratch on one of the tires. I can't be me, I just went to the hotel and parked there on a big parking lot, recorded on camera!! And came back to Luton. I'm sure the scratch was there before, and I had to pay 155£ for it. They are doing it on purposes, they knew that before, that's why the guy checked the car for me. I'm renting cars all over the world, nearly every month, that was never ever happened to me before. The whole station there looks very unprofessional.

Their prices are VERY competitive, which in turn (unfortunately) attract the worst type of customers that they have to put up with time and time again. Rented from them many times and never have had an issue. I see that some people here are trying to take unfair advantage of nice staff at green motion by blackmailing them with bad reviews. Don't ever hesitate renting from them :)

Recently returned to the UK for a short visit. We booked online but requested an upgrade before collection. This was agreed but not altered when we arrived to collect the vehicle. However it was a simple process and we were upgraded with any quibbles.Collection and drop off were seamless and quick. The booking process specified a credit card in the name of the driver but failed to mention it needed two months validity - fortunately I had a second card with me that I could use. Other than that I would recommend them and would certainly use them again.

Easy to book, easy to get to (free shuttle)
friendly helpful staff, no hard sell, clean car, no added extras, free upgrade, and allowed me a few miles over with no charge. What else do you need? Great service.

Despite an initial problem with the booking due having gone through an agent the Helpful staff member ( Patito, I hope I have spelt that correctly) on the desk managed to correct our booking. The car we had was brand new and very clean and tidy. Although there seems to be a number of negative reviews on here our experience was very good and we will certainly use them again. Having had an issue by using an agent I would say it is always better to book direct no matter which hire company you are using.

Warning, stay away.
Our company booked a long term rental for a working tour (5 weeks). We booked online - they were very quick and happy to take the money (about £1.1k)
We completed the pre-pickup online check-in successfully.
Once we arrived, the CS representative did not have our details (30' wasted the day before).
Furthermore, since we did not have a credit card in the drivers' name, we were charged an extortionate £621 EXTRA (55% more than we expected), to then lower our deposit and use a Debit Card.
I would like to add that we've rented cars regularly at SIXT, Enterprise, Europecar, Hertz and Avis - never once, in the UK, we needed a credit card. We've always used our Business Debit card.
Terrible experience, will NEVER book again, just sharing this as a word of warning for other customers.

They’re scammers! I rented a car from them for 2h and because I was in a hurry I never thought of checking the state of the car before leaving. When I returned they went straight to a pre-existing small dent in the rim of the wheel and charged me £150 for it. Never renting with them again! And i’m sure to be checking my cars thoroughly before i leave the rental place from now on!
