Pleasant, experience.....no one tried to ""add"" extras or add-ons....just what i reserved....just a note....when returning the rental at Glasgow Airport....the return lot is a little hard to find ...just keep extra eyes on the signs that lead you to it.

Beware. I always check my car for scratches prior to taking it from any rental company, but make sure you check your contract. Despite clearly saying I didn't need extra cover because my credit card covered it, they added a substantial additional daily charge to my bill (This is a 'mistake ' the employees have a big financial incentive to make), and as I hadn't carefully checked my contract, they shrugged their shoulders ans said it was too late.

Hundreds of dollars later, I'm certainty going to watch for this "mistaken" addition to my contracts in future.

Far less convenient than when was in T5. Also I picked up a car there that already had marks but it was wet…and when returned was charged for those existing marks. I asked Avis to check previous return records but they did not and refused to refund the charges. Luckily there is a sixt car hire at T5 so can now avoid Avis ever again.

Answering Avis response: I understand that it would have been better if I had noticed and raised the damage prior to driving the car. However, in my disputing the damage being my fault your “review” did not check previous return records for that vehicle as I asked….so it may well be that you already have a record of that damage but benefit from charging multiple customers for it. Perhaps within your terms and conditions but sharp practice anyway.

Great Service and support. Innparticular I wouldnlike to thanks Andy for the great help and efficiency in the car return. I was late with my flight and he helped and assist me in the best possible way, allowing me to arrive in time to the terminal. A really 5 stars service!

We rented a small Mercedes Benz for a business trip up to the Midlands and our Avis experience was very good.

Check in and drop off was easy, the staff was helpful, accommodating and I'd recommend this rental car provider at Heathrow airport.

Car hire was good overall quick easy pick up. Though staff were not very smartly dressed, dishevelled hair etc. The assistant was friendly and helpful.
Return of car wasn’t as good, there were no clear signs to where to return car, I walked into hotel with 2 suitcase to find counter closed and had to walk to other side of car park, went into office, guy said man outside would deal with it, I was left to stand outside waiting, no one told me it had been signed off! Until I went into office to ask where upon guy said yes it’s done , thanks it’s pretty cold hanging about for 10/15 minutes!!
On plus side the curtesy bus drivers couldn’t have been more helpful, 5 stars to the bus drivers ⭐️
Overall good apart from lack of customer care on return.

Good hire from Avis at Heathrow T5. Tripmeter says over 2,616 miles and 80 hours of driving. Zayd checked us back in early this morning and I left with a smile on my face as he was so nice.

The car I rented (for 18 days with full coverage) during my to trip to England to repatriate my wife's ashes suddenly got a flat on the second day of my journey. It cost me a total of $65 in multiple international calls (on hold for a total of 2.5 hours over at least 3 calls and 2 days) and it took 4 hours to get someone (AA in England) to come out and put a temporary plug in it so I could continue on to my destination in Cayton Bay a few miles ahead. The technician said the tire was bald and never should have been rented to me in that condition, and was unsafe to drive in the snow, which started to fall when the tire went flat. The technician referred me to Kwik Fit in the nearby town of Scarborough to get the tire replaced ASAP, however, when I went there (twice; once in the morning, and again for a scheduled appointment in the afternoon) the next day, they said their computer was down and could not do it at Avis' expense. I called Avis the next day and they authorized someone to come out to my location and replace the tire, however, by that time, I had already lost 2 days, and our grandchildren had to cut their stay with me in Cayton Bay short by a day because I could not risk driving to Hull to pick them up. I informed the assistant at the London Heathrow Terminal 5 Avis of all of this when I returned the car, and they offered me a refund of £100, which I reluctantly accepted because I was already running late for my departure flight. Very disappointed!
