BEWARE - 3 DAY NOTICE REQUIRE TO TRAVEL TO EUROPE!
Booked a car via Costco and went to the location with 3 kids and wife to pickup up the car. Didn't read all the small font fine print - who does?

They refused to give me a car because I was intending to go to Paris! The fine print says you need to provide them 72 hours notice to arrange for European insurance! How stupid? In this day and age they need 3 days notice to get insurance!!!! The Europcar guys next door provided insurance immediately!

Why is it so hard to get EU insurance for you guys? And in the meanwhile, you should probably send customers an email so they are made aware instead of relying on long drawn contracts and small print.

Hired an SUV from the Alamo Heathrow office to drop off at Liverpool Airport 3 days later. Arriving in Chester my wife pressed the passenger side electric window button which fell inside the door mechanism. Couldn’t get the window back up. Called Alamo numerous times , they produce to 1 fix it locally or 2 provide a replacement car ir 3 send AA out to fix. Nothing happened and Alamo never called me back Unable to use the car as we couldn’t park it unsecured. So this was an equipment failure under normal conditions. I asked for a refund for the days I couldn’t use the car. Now they have sent a damage report indicating £1,500 charge!!! I am so frustrated with Alamo Heathrow and again, I AM ASKING YOU TO CONTACT ME BY EMAIL.

Had rented through rentalcars but at the office they changed the terms without letting me know. At first the fuel policy was full to full but afterwards they charged me pre-paid fuel. When returning the car they noticed a small tyre damage and told me they would be charging about 20-30 pounds. They ended up charging me 150 pounds after two weeks.

Rented another car with europcar and it was perfect.

On Nov 4, 2022 at around 7am, my wife, our younger daughter and I took possession of VW Tiguan. We loved the company’s rental policy and we treated the hired car as our own until we returned it on Nov 12, 2022. All the staff including the transit drivers were very friendly and helpful. The hiring experience this time has reinforced our loyalty to Alamo!

Very smooth & efficient handover in both directions, very friendly & helpful service by Milcah when picking up the car.

The only slight hiccup was they required a Credit Card (rather than just a debit card which is usually sufficient in the UK) which I was not clearly warned about when booking online - could have easily turned into a very bad experience if I didn't happen to have a CC with me by chance.

They try to find anyway to swindle you, I booked an auto trans vehicle with access to apple play. at pick up I was told the only vehicle that was available for me was a manual with no apply play. when i said no way for manual they said we can upgrade you to an automatic. then i said how about the apply play and they said that's another upgrade which i already have prepaid for. i said no thank you i will just stay with an automatic its ok. they said you have to wait about 25 minutes until another vehicle be made ready. then 5 minutes later another agent comes through and says oh your car is ready and i am your new rep. i said ok. voila there appear the vehicle i reserved, apple play and automatic. i noticed a dent on the vehicle and i took pictures of it, i also noticed a scuff on the wheel and tire and made the rep aware of it. the rep stated that its ok so i took pictures before i signed anything. i also selected for them to fill it up upon return which was very expensive. after i left i saw the gas station that's 1.4 miles away and the cost of gas even if it was to be returned empty if i fill it up i would spend less than half the amount they charge, so i called and asked to remove the charges for the fill up as i will do that myself and they said that was fine. upon return i wanted to confirm with the rep about the charges for fill up and they stated since i agreed at the beginning it will be charged even if i return it empty. so i had to speak to someone else and they were very quick and cancelled the charge since it was returned empty. one hour later as i am waiting in the departure terminal there i get a notification for a very expensive tire repair referencing the same scuff i brought up and had pictures of. they said the charge already went through and i will have to take it up with the repair company. this place is a scam and i will definitely press charges for not only trying to steal from me but most likely thinking they can take advantage of people who's visiting the UK. Really disappointed.

No problems. Picked up in London, dropped off in Edinburgh 13 days later. Very helpful woman in London, answered all questions with a smile in pouring rain in London. Rates good
