Usk Way Car Park

You have to be there at 6.30am to renovate your parking ticket. What? Are seriously kidding me?

We were staying at the Student Campus next to Usk Way car park. Arriving around 4.30 pm we parked in Usk Way Car Park. Paid £4.40 fee. After a night out we slept till about 9am and went to look around Newport shops. Stopped at the car park to put in another payment for the day and found a parking ticket on the car for £100 reduced to £60 if paid promptly! As far as we can work out, the sign said something about a day's charge runs out at 1.30am!!! How can anyone be expected to be around at 1.30am to pay? Also the car park is not maintained and has potholes and loose uneven stone clippings and mud for a parking surface. My advice is park on the surrouning pavements like the locals do!! A Rubbish Car Park!!!!

Rough, open ground car park, large 'holes' so go slow & careful.
Would be difficult for wheelchair users, especially in the wet.
Says 'park in marked bays' on sign but there are no marked bays. 😂
Passport office is directly across from it tho so useful if you need to go there, see 3rd foto.

Prices are fair I think. Surface is uneven with large potholes, so if you have low suspension than don't park here. Very close to passport office and magistrates court. Close to center and other attractions.
