The George Carvery & Hotel

My wife and I visited this wonderful venue a few weeks ago. It was our second visit, and we were keen to savour their carvery. Once again, we were impressed, both by the service (David is a warm and friendly host) and the quality of food on offer. I have worked and lived in various parts of the UK, as well as holidayed in many UK destinations, and I have to say, this venue does the best carvery I have ever eaten. The meat (I had the beef) was succulent and tender, while the vegetables were fresh and delicious.
If you want a very pleasant dining experience, then I would highly recommend this place.

Came on Sunday, the staff and the owners were nothing but welcoming and beyond kind! The roast was probably the nicest roast I have ever tasted, although I wish there was a few more side options! But overall was beautiful food and lovely service! Will definitely return!

We were just heading home after having a lovely few nights in flamborough and decided to take a detour on our way home to Cumbria. We decided to stop off at the George carvery for something to eat. The food and the service was excellent. Not sure of them name of the guy maybe one of the owners. He was very friendly and funny and my one year old son couldn’t stop smiling at him. Think my son was throwing his book on purpose , so he would make him laugh.Couldn’t fault him at all. Really good with children. Food was good. Would definitely come back if we were ever passing although it was a long detour for us. Good place to stop off if you want some decent food. Would highly recommend this place.

Absolutely cracking place to stay. Brilliant Staff, Excellent food and a warm and inviting atmosphere. My room was clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable, so much so I overslept. If you get the chance don't miss this place. Its a Gem.

Delicious roast dinner. Carvery with lots of choice including fish and mince and dumplings, tasty veg. 2 over 65's went on a Thursday night which offers meals for £8.

Absolutely love the place, greeted with smiles from all the staff, Dave and his team repeatedly checked that everything was ok and to a high standard . The food is quality and the place is always clean and tidy. Well worth the money and a tip for efficient young staff👍🏻

Best carvery/roast I've had. I love coming here and they have a great dog friendly area to eat in too! Win win!

Recently moved into the area and wanted to try out the George again (it's been a few years since last here). We were not disappointed. We visited on seniors discount night (Thursdays) and it was already pretty busy by 6pm, creating atmosphere but no so busy that we felt uncomfortable. Very smiley waitress service. Thanks, we'll be back.
