Dixy Chicken

Open till late and food was still fresh. Only issue is there isn’t any parking and you have to double park and isn’t too safe. But the quality of food makes up for it. Wings nice and chips deathly fried. Never let’s you down 👍🏽

The one at Chapel Road Ilford is actually really good. They make the food with care. Unfortunately the one at Barking station is horrible as they fry the cheese burger. Who drops there cheese burger in a deep fryer. That is sad. I've complained so many times but there was no response.

It's a very good chicken shop. After watching cinema from Ilford cineworld, it's best option. Main things is their quality of the food, verioetes and affordable rate 👌🏻👌🏻. I loved it 😋😋

Used to be good value for money until they recently increased the prices. However, they are still cheaper then my local chicken and chip shop so I guess there’s that. Unusually, a lot of the meals they have on offer don’t include drinks.

The wings are crispy and tender. Chips are crunchy and starchy. Very typical for a chicken and chip shop. However, on two occasions when ordering chicken it was tough and burnt. On the second occasion, I decided to complain. The man behind the counter became defensive, saying only the “ bone was burnt”. After telling him multiple times I wouldn’t buy from them again he finally decided to give me a few wings as compensation.

Definitely a shame, as it can’t be all that difficult serving fresh chicken.

I’ve also tried the cheeseburger meal combo including a cheeseburger, three wings and chips for only £3.49. Sounds like a good deal. But unfortunately, the cheeseburger is much smaller, but most importantly tasted terrible. The salad was dry, and the Patti tasted like flavourless processed meat. I even put chilli on it to give it some flavour but to no avail.

The chicken wrap tasted like soggy chicken. I did eventually finish eating it after wrapping it up after only a few bites. But overall, I just felt like it was underwhelming and i wouldn’t order it again.

To conclude, Dixy is pretty much a below average chicken and chips shop. Good for chips and wings. Terrible at chicken piece’s and anything else. If you got loose change to spare it’s a good place to stop for wings and chips. But don’t bother experimenting with their menu or spending extra. A lot of their so called “meal deals” just aren’t worth it.

Food was good, prices were also good. I enjoyed my evening meal there for a couple of weeks untill one of the bad-humored counter guy (Bengali) shamed me for ordering the same menu every time. His comments were offensive. "God has written the same thing in your taqdeer for everyday", he said. Anybody who is sensitive about self-respect will not tolerate such a taunt. I stopped going there anymore. (I'll miss the food, two Pakistani guys and an old man who worked tirelessly there.)

I ordered 4 wings.

The guy behind the teller said there was a min spend of £5 for card.

I said "thats a lie because I spent £3.50 on a wrap 2 days ago"

He said "£3.50 is closer to £5 than £2.00"

To which i replied "They're both below £5!!"

He laughed and i walked out

Absolutely shocking customer service. Never returning again.

Well today I went stupid dixy I ask for 2 buger meals what happens me being in a rush I didn't check in the shop I end up with one buger meal and 3 Pepsi which I didn't ask for so when I next go out again I want my 2 pound back for the 2 Pepsi I didn't ask for.
Also the buger meal was undercooked so it gave me a upset stomach so I will never buy from this dixy again.

Absolute trash, the burger fell apart the moment I picked it up and the fried chicken in the burger tasted like wet concrete. The fries OMG, you can tell it's reheated fries from the previous day, the taste 🤢
