New Golden Chef

The best Chinese in Whitchurch. My favourite being Duck in Black Pepper Sauce. The portion size is enormous and the duck is absolutely gorgeous.
All the Chinese Takeaways in Whitchurch are very good, but this one never falters.

Hot and sour soup was horrid. It was impossible to eat as were the spare ribs(sitting in a hard burned sauce). The whole meal was horrible please don't believe the reviews on their site. Unless you have twenty six pounds to waste. I gave 1 star for yet I don't know why.🤬

I've had a couple meals from here, this little corner Chinese delivers high class food, its amazing, flavoursome and quality is exceptional.

Food is ok but they don't give you a lot of chips the staff are nice though

Always good food, never had anything I didn't like from here. They will try to make up a dish not on the menu if you ask.

Tried this Chinese as our usual one was extremely busy, but certainly won’t make that mistake again. Firstly our meals were nearly 25 minutes late and I was fobbed off a few times with ‘sorry we are busy’. I did finally get a small discount after speaking to 4 separate people, and that’s why they have 2 stars instead of 1. The sweet and sour was pretty much flavourless, as were the prawn crackers, which also tasted stale. The rest of the meal was purely flavoured with salt. Really not at all appetising and will just wait next time for my usual takeaway.

After having tried the competition I can safely say that Golden Chef is the better takeaway in the area.
- Price is more then reasonable.
- Food quality is very good.
Will be coming back again.

When I come to Whitchurch i always have something from here. It has to be Chicken, chips,peas and gravy. The gravy is like a sauce. I have no idea how they make it but it's the best gravy ever! Highly recommended.
