Golden City

Im so disappointed. I ordered two soups (those were okay as it would be concerning if soup was made poorly) however, I ordered a chicken chow mein (which is what is shown in the attached photo) the noodles aren't crispy - it's almost as if they made those minute noodles and added boiled veg AND BOILED CHICKEN and called it chow mein? I'm sorry? No. It was seriously disgusting and unedible. There is no nice way to say it.

I don’t know why this place got only 3.2 stars but it’s a 5 star restaurant in my books. Ordered through Uber eats and the food arrived piping HOT :) I was wary of the food tasting bland but this tastes JUST like how Chinese chefs cook it back at home. I love this place and I’ll definitely order again! Loyal customer *won*.

I also highly recommend the deep fried seaweed, bbq spare ribs and aubergine.

BTW I eat very little so I spooned out the food into a mini bowl of my own. The portions were huge :)

Had friends over and we ordered a takeout. We all agreed the food was great. Fresh, good quality produce and delicious. Portions are very generous.

Absolutely disgusting, we ordered Gourmet D’oeuvres which comes with satay chicken with no satay sauce! I called them and they told me you do not get satay sauce with this order! So basically it’s just a dried piece of tasteless chicken on a stick. The only sauce provided was some kind of glue which tasted sour and weird. The egg fried rice was tasteless and clumpy, the chicken with black bean sauce was also tasteless as too the was the beef in curry sauce. The won ton soup was also sour and weird like it had gone off. And they just added some kind of sour flavour to it to hide the bad taste. I would never order from this place again, they should not be in business and their prices were not cheap at all.

Food was fine (though noticably smaller portions than previously). Delivery time was way longer than stated when I ordered - 1hr45mins vs the 50mins they said. When I called up to see where my order was (1hr15mins after ordering), they said the driver was just leaving and the delay was because I was a long way away (only a 20min drive), and I could either cancel or accept it ... No apology, no recompense. They clearly have a slow kitchen, not a slow driver! Won't bother ordering from them again.

I ordered through deliveroo at 8.15pm, it said it would arrive by 9pm...my food arrived at 9.50pm!!! Over an hour and half later!!!
My partner ordered an Indian meal at the same time for himself, from another place and it arrived within 25mins of ordering.
I ordered singapore vermicelli noodles, it was really bland, no taste at all. Same with the veg pancake rolls, tasteless. The vegetarian chicken was ok, but the veg was mainly onions which I hate. Anyway it was the first time I ordered from them and also the last time. By the looks of the other reviews I am not the only one. Avoid if you don't want to ruin your evening waiting for mediocre food.

Honestly disgusting. So expensive and I only got spring rolls, salt and chilli chips and satay sauce. A complete vegetarian / vegan meal… . Regardless my food was pungent of a FISH / prawns smell. I tried to eat the chips which looked like left overs of a pan had just been thrown on them with tonnes and tonnes of chunky onion … on my chips? and It tasted like chicken and then I found tonnes of off cut chicken batters all in my chips. Literally made me feel so sick. Disgusting. Smelt fish tasted of chicken and had loads of chicken batter mixed in with my chips!
