I'd always seen this place walking to work and finally decided to try it last night. The food was excellent; I tried the special prawn and mushrooms with egg fried rice. They are just slightly pricier than your everyday Chinese takeaway but it's obvious they are using much higher quality ingredients. And the taste was fantastic, nothing overdone, cooked brilliantly, and the rice wasn't just a big blob in the shape of the container, they were perfectly cooked good quality rice. Will be ordering again tonight!

Soooo impressed with our takeaway this evening. Quite possibly the best Chinese meal I've ever eaten!! All ingredients really fresh and delicious, the prawns were so tender and juicy. Tofu was cooked to perfection, and the spicy aubergine was to die for!

My housemates meal wasn’t vegan so I called back as mistakes happen. The way this restaurant dealt with this was so amazing. They sent us a new meal that came super quick and gave us some extra sides and a drink.

Besides this, my meal was absolutely amazing and I will definitely order again. My housemate was very happy when her meal arrived and the surprise of extra sides!

Thank you so much delivering high quality food during a pandemic. Really appreciate it.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED guys xxx

Anise is the best Chinese takeaway I have ever had, I don't normally write reviews here but the husband and wife who run Anise deserve the effort. The food here is real food, not those pre-frozen stodgy chicken balls and greasy noodle meals. I recommend their Singapore Rice Noodles and Won Ton Soup.

I really appreciate the vegan menu and fresh ingredients and the order was on time too. I think for how costly it is (I spent £20.50 for one) the portions could be a lot more generous. I also would have liked the dish to have a bit more favour, it was a very watery black bean, not really a strong flavour at all. No garlic, ginger etc detectable to me.
I’d order again if the prices were a little more affordable. For £20 I can eat fairly well for one even in a restaurant.

This Chinese perfectly hit the spot and is somewhere I'm going to come back to often. Not only did they nail the classics that I love but they have some really interesting creative dishes that I've not seen anywhere else. The portions are very generous and the staff were very friendly. Looking forward to trying more!

very prompt delivery, my food arrived a lot quicker then I expected. The sweet corn and chicken soup tasted fresh and was not overly seasoned and the prawn toast sticks were a novel and interesting take on a TA regular. Slightly disappointed with the special fried rice with duck as the meat was a little dry but overall I enjoyed my meal and will probably try again.
