What a disappointment!!!!! Chicken curry was disgusting it was pink in colour and watery , it was tasteless and the chow mein was so salty,
Sorry to leave a bad review but I would not recommend them much better Chinese take away in Exeter.

I ordered chicken satay to start and a chicken, ginger and spring onion dish with egg fried rice for main. The order arrived promptly, delivered by a polite gentleman. The chicken satay was very nice. The chicken, ginger and spring onion was an enigma, absolutely no spring onion, half a pea and two shavings of carrot and a dust cart full of fried onion!! Overall taste was ok

We have been customers of the New Orient for years and despite all the 1 star reviews we haven't had any problems until recently. Last night 12th March we rang our order in at 6.40 pm and were told 45 minutes. At 7.45 we still hadn't recieved it so we rang to see where it was. There was some confusion about our postcode and that our order had been taken somewhere else🤷🏻‍♀️. Then we had a phone call asking for our postcode and we were told our order was on it's way. An hour later and 3 more phone calls from them and we still didn't have our order!! Most of our calls were finally answered by a member of staff who couldn't understand English, they also kept going off shouting at someone and just left us hanging!! We rang again at 9.10 to be told one of the drivers that our order was being cooked again because they didn't know what happened to it !! We explained that we were regular customers and that we weren't happy with the way we were being treated so we asked for some discount for the inconvenience we were told that the owner of the restaurant would be delivering our order within 15 minutes (9.30ish) and he would discuss a discount when he arrived. At 10 pm we were still waiting, our food never arrived !! We phoned the restaurant and told them to cancel the order, a member of staff just replied sorry !! Absolutely disgusting treatment, no customer service whatsoever, they just didn't care. If I could give this establishment a minus 5 starts then I would, they have lost our custom for good now and I will certainly not be recommending them to anyone !! What business in today's economical climate can afford to lose customers ? Some advice for the owner and his staff .......have staff that can understand English taking your phone orders and don't lie to your customers !!!

Considering all of the "below average" comments, I was pleasantly surprised after having a take away from New Orient. Very friendly staff took the order and it was ready in 10 minutes and the food tasted good..
chowmain was tasty and the Sweet and Sour was flavoursome. Parking is a bit of a pain out the front of the shop.
Good prices and they also took Visa/MasterCard, unlike other places in the area.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NIT ORDER FROM HERE
Food was delivered 20 minutes early, ideal you say… well it would of been if the food was hot!!
It was barely warm, the chicken balls looked like they had just been dipped in the fryer as were very pale, curry was awful!!
Tried ringing the take away and basically was called a liar, bad customer, and in trying to get a free meal. This is what I heard in the back ground when it was said in English, the poor girl on the phone didn’t know what to do!! They offered me 10% off next order 🤣🤣 but they weren’t going to do anything about the cold food I had sat here.
Then another woman came on the phone and she said the boss asked if you touched the food he can’t replace it. I said that’s rubbish as I work in catering myself. As soon as she heard this she hung up the phone!!
I tried to ring back and they picked the phone up and out it on the side and all I could hear was them going on about how my food was fine and they won’t refund me!!
Reported them to just eat and will report to EHO on Monday

The service was absolutely shocking. Ordered my food, they forgot my kids chicken balls and then had the cheek to ask me if I’m sure they aren’t there, basically calling me a liar. Then when I asked if they could deliver them as I had paid for them their excuse was “we are too busy so we can’t” disgusting service.

Ordered chicken and chips. Chicken was so dry it was inedible and I have no idea what they used to make chips as they were hard and tasteless. Absolutely disgusting would never use again.

The Food took 30 minutes to be ready after placing an order and waiting for it. The Food was hot, which is about as far as the compliments go. The Food lacked any flavour. Ordering a salt and pepper chips, a satay sauce and some hot wings. The salt and pepper chips were just a box of chips with a little bit of chopped onion. The Wings were cooked, which is good, and the satay sauce was very salty and very oily. I gave this a 1 star just so I could leave this review. 0 stars would be given otherwise. Also, the drink ordered came out of fridge, but this was warm (somehow?).
