Would definitely recommend, very qutesy, olde worldy, very old fashion English tea room, I love it. There is nothing modern about this place and that’s apart of the joy. No good for wheelchairs as the tea room is up stairs, the whole place is in 3 floors with very wobbly floors, nothing is flat which is fun, feels like you been drinking hehe. Toilets were very small but ok.
There is a chocolate shop on the bottom floor and the tea room is on the next two floors. The cake we had was every chocolate lovers dream, it was soooooo nice I am definitely going back. Staff were friendly, chocolate shop seemed a lot but the cafe was priced well for what you got.

Such a quaint and charming place. And so easy to miss. A must visit if you are in the area. The hot chocolate fudge cake is amazing. I would recommend you skip breakfast or lunch though!

CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE & MORE CHOCOLATE..!! 😁🍫
cosy tearooms woth lots of character. The yummiest hot chocolates we have ever come across. Good choice of flavours. I chose cherry and my partner banana, both of which were amazing..!! Great selection of cakes to choose from as well as savoury items on offer. Lovely little shop with the tastiest chocolates that we have experienced outside of Bruges. Nice staff with clean facilities.

This is a gorgeous little chocolate shop and cafe just off the main shopping street in Kendal. The shop is right next door to the cafe but is connected and can be accessed by a set of stairs, although the are very narrow and low.

The staff are great and very friendly and decoration and seating (in the café) are very traditional looking and in keeping with the stone built building. There is a nice touch in the form of a sign showing a brief history of chocolate production.

The food smelled great, but the draw for me was the the huge range of hot chocolate drinks available. I had the Highway man (salted caramel) and with a massive blob of whipped cream was absolutely delicious. My partner ordered a Merry Cherry and after nabbing a taste I was again Impressed. Another point, these hot chocolates were only £2.50 each! Amazing price for what they are.

Overall, very recommended!

Chocolate shop was great, lots of things to choose from and good quality, i spent way too much in here but i do like chocolate!
The cafe upstairs was pleasant, however i was a dissapointed to hear that they buy their scones in rather than make them onsite, and they crumbled and felt dry, like they had been defrosted. Cream wasnt clotted either which i think makes the cream tea. I must say though that the cherry/chocolate gateaux did look amazing, im gutted i didnt have that instead.

Certainly looking forward to visiting on my next trip to the lakes for the absolutely delicious coffee cake'ies.
Lovely couple deserve to do well after the shaky start the Covid-19 Brought. We need to support small businesses and all pull together ❤ Go on treat yourself 💖
There are cruel people out there with too much negativity 😢
