Birdgate Chocolatiers

I read with interest other reviews where customers have bought and enjoyed lovely hand made chocolates and being somewhat of a chocoholic myself, we popped in during a day trip to Pickering on Tuesday 30 July hoping to sample and purchase the delightful chocolates on display. We entered the shop and saw a man in the back who we assumed was working on the chocolates, he looked up and saw us, I smiled and waited as I could hear two other males talking in the background but out of sight. My husband then saw the sign which said RING FOR ATTENTION so we pressed the bell and waited, we waited until it was becoming embarrassing, the man looked again but never acknowledged us, the two males carried on their conversation and we left the shop closing the door firmly and commenting how rude but still disappointed and empty handed, so I can only imagine how lovely and enjoyable their chocolates are as we didn’t get the opportunity to puchase any, which was a great shame really as we would have spent a fair amount of cash buying treats for ourselves and our family.

Up in North Yorkshire and the guys at Trailblazer Outdoors recommended this chocolate shop. Love chocolate so couldn't really go wrong, they have so many different hand made chocolates and the attention to detail on them is awesome. Spoke to the older guy in there who was very friendly, bought a few bags of chocolates for friends back home.

I was sent a gift box of the mixed milk collection from my Auntie (a Pickering local) down to Bristol. Arrived in perfect condition, beautifully wrapped and most importantly, every single one tasted delicious. Great quality and highly recommended.

Found Birdgate Chocolatiers whilst on a break in the local area back in September and purchased a range of chocolates and coated nuts, all of which were delicious. I have ordered a couple of large boxes as Christmas gifts - and I'm hoping my husband will share his salted caramel chocolates with me! Don't buy from Hotel Chocolat - support this independent instead!

Visited Birdgate Chocolatiers around mid October. When we entered the shop lovely aromas hit you and my mother said to the assistant "Can I stand here all day" 😂😂.

We purchased stem ginger buttons and a nice bar of chocolate. But since then we have ordered a selection of boxed chocolate which came very nicely packaged and the selection was extremely exquisite & flavoursome.

We will be ordering again for Christmas and I highly recommend.

Had the nutmeg, rum and raisin- the best rum/raisin ice cream I've ever had! And lovely creamy texture and crunchy cone.
Husband had the chocolate, which was rich and full of proper chocolate taste.
Would highly recommend- trying to figure out how we can squeeze in another cone before we leave Pickering!

Always pop in to this traditional chocolate shop in Pickering when passing by on route to whitby. There's a great choice of dark or milk chocolates on offer which are hand made on the premises.,some do have unique flavours , you are spoilt for choice .They also produce their own hand made ice creams in a small range of diifferent flavours. Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed with these wonderful chocolates

Ordered on line, less than 24 hours my beautifully presented wrapped chocolates arrived. Cannot wait to see my lady and her face when she opens. Thankyou.
