St Mary the Less, Church

A truly warm and welcoming congregation.

There has been a church on this site since the 11th century and there is still 12th century masonry in the nave walls. But, nobody is sure how the name St Mary the Less came about. One theory is that it became the lesser of two churches in the area when the larger Church of St Peter in Andover changed its name to St Mary.

I sang here with Bexley Phoenix Choir, while on tour in the area. The welcome was incredible and audience amazing. One of the best concerts I've experienced. Beautiful church and a lovely village.
