Across the water you see the creek at Faversham and may be able to make out the church spire of St. Marys. To the west of the church grounds you may be able to see the remains of a Norman moate and the mound on which once sat a wooden Norman keep. This once patrolled the important transport route of the Swale and the Hart ferry. To the east the old Harty school building has been converted to residential premises.
Inside St Thomas’s you will find some lovely stained glass, lovely old beams and of antique interest a medieval chest. Detailed history of the church can be found in booklets which can be purchased are a reasonable price. The church has no electricity and the candle lit church service is packed.
Lots of Jams ,marmalade and chutneys for sale in the church.
Loved the place!
