St Paul's Church Cheltenham

As a visitor from Wales It's a lively, friendly church. You can either sit and soak or join in with the vibrant Atmosphere.

A vibrant middle class church with modern worship style tending towards Charismatic movement. It's an offshoot of Trinity, Cheltenham and very similar in churchmanship. Worship band, contemporary Christian music rather than hymns and experiential focussed - put me in mind of the 19th century Slum Ritualusts, not because it is remotely Catholic but by the simple appeal to emotion. Not really my bag but...

The reverend preached a great Biblical sermon as good as any of the Evangelicals, tackling head on difficult issues in the Bible, and pitching it well for the whole audience. The Reverend did an outstanding job.

Also the family service is great. The kids were well served, and this is a fine Biblically rooted Spirit led church.

The only weakness is the lack of success in reaching the working class and student colonised parish in which it lies. Church events are reaching the community, but 13 years after the Trinity take over of the parish worshippers are still "bussed" in. I fear the only thing that might change that is if some of them move to the area and send their kids to local schools.

Having said that this church is an outstanding success and their service to the community first rate. You'll get a warm welcome there; not my church, but serving Jesus is St.Pauls in an effective way.

Great place to come and get prayed for and to become a part of a community that cares

Brilliant to go to 2 Easter services there with the family. Love the family atmosphere

We always go here for the summer fetes.
