St James the Great, Church

This church, this location is divine. As I remember my childhood. Surrounded by classic Oxfordshire architecture - the surrounding villages do have more modern and infinitely less attractive houses sadly - the curse of the 1970/80's. This church however is an oasis with devoted bell-ringers who invite you in to watch and a wonderful priest who strikes the perfect balance. I could so live there.

Lovely church, very fitting send off for a dear friend.

Gillian Margaret nee Johns and myself got married in this church in April 1977
the vicar was Canon Pearce - lovely man - we had a really great day - remembering both my mum and Dad
Tony and Gwen and Margarets Dad Mr Peter Johns and mum Dorothy also all our families and friends- reception at the 66 club Royal British Legion -
Our marriage still very strong and happily celebrating 43 years of marriage in April 2020. Margarets mum and dad are laid to rest in the church cemetery - R.I.P. God Bless - always being remembered and visit when we can - Happy memories of those early days xx
