We buy any car based at Matalan.
Very easy experience to sell,however offered £800 less for a few stone chips on lower bumper and literally 2 on the bonnet,this is on a 9 year old car?

Great stock but terrible customer service! When I asked a staff member if I could pay with them they gave me a surly look and pointed to the self service. As a disabled person it’s not the easiest thing to scan and pack a lot of items. Only bags available were large £1 bags that you had to get yourself.
Saw an elderly lady also struggling to scan, pack and pay for her own items. Surely there should be one till open for customers who need it and staff who are more considerate.
Unlikely to return to this store.

I'm not a lover of this place to be honest, it used to be a decent place a few years ago but now the chesterfield stores like a jumble sail stuff everywhere, I'm not certain if they're all the same i only went in looking for hand luggage.The clothing quality like all these budget stores are very low quality nothing ever fits right the shoe sizes are never right and for the quality it's not really cheap pass on this one.

Matalan is always a good store to purchase clothings. I wish Chesterfield branch had better collection here. Hope they will improve. 5 star for the brand name ❤️

MATALAN, CHESTERFIELD
SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Bought 2 duvet covers online. Went to click and collect from store. Got home, took one out of packaging to look at, didnt resemble photo, so repackaged it and took it back to store next day. Was told by assistant, rather abruptly, that she could only refund one as other had been opened. Told husband and daughter when I got back in car and they returned to store for an explanation. They were told no refund could be given as it had been opened. It had to be returned in it's original packaging, which it was, have a receipt, which we had, and that the barcode was not recognised by Matalan, although they had already refunded identical item? Spoke to manager, Charlotte, who backed up her colleague and told us to ring Matalan customer services which we did when we got home. We spoke to a lady there who told us to take the item back to store for a full refund, which we did. At no point does it say on the packaging that the item will not be refunded if opened. When we asked for the assistants name because we wished to complain about her attitude, she refused to give it, saying that she didn't have to. I suspect she has had people wishing to complain about her before, and gets round it by doing this. How do you make a complaint about someone without their name? Customer service is all about helping the customer to your best ability, not being surly and dismissive. You seriously need to send your staff on a retraining course in good manners. This is not intended at all staff but because she would not give her name, it has to be generalised. SO PEOPLE, PLEASE REMEMBER, IF YOU BUY SOMETHING ONLINE AND ARE REFUSED A REFUND IN STORE, RING CUSTOMER SERVICES AS THEY WILL OVER RIDE THE STORE (Not always of course).
BUT DON'T TAKE THE STORES WORD AS GOSPEL.
