Matalan

Lovely big store, lots of parking spaces and quiet.
They have a range of items for women, kids, men and an awesome home store with affordable prices.
Staff are helpful, many tills available for payment, there is a cafe in store which is nice as you can have refreshments before or after shopping.
There is a toilet available as well. In general i enjoyed my shopping experience and hope to visit again..

Good parking, store was well lit and air conditioned some good value clothing items though certainly of the cheaper quality. Very poor home selection that felt very cheap. Wrong price tags and clothes size cubes on hangers, staff were abrupt and docile in keeping the store tidy and neat, delays with queues and the overall a very lethargic attitude from some of the workers. It’s not the Matalan of days of old, but for quick one season wear cheap bits it’s acceptable. The store music was annoying at best and there were store trolleys and pallets left half processed around the store. Overall a very disappointing experience, unlikely to return

Purchased a pair of trousers from matalan Bamber Bridge 9 days ago, had to change them because someone had put the wrong sized hanger on. Went to change for correct size but did not have the receipt had to pay an extra 8 quid because the originals are now apparently in a sale although the signs still stated the original price. Will think twice before returning to these thieves.

Closed the changing rooms. Told I can try on at home and get a refund.

If I wanted to do that I'd buy online and send back.
I visit a brick and mortar store to try before I buy

Went in to buy a few outfits for an upcoming holiday 3 pairs of trousers and 4 shirts. Went to try them on only to find the changing room closed. I struggle to see why anyone running a store like this would impose such mind boggling nonsensical rules. Shame really as I often shop at Matalan but I guess no more. Its a 6 mile round trip for me and in the days of being economical it's just not worthwhile totry on at home and then repeat the journey if things don't fit

Second visit in two days and I’ve lost the will to live! The staff are so unhelpful and to be fair are understaffed. No one on the shop floor and an obsession with the self checkouts. Three times I was asked did I want to use one, three times I said no, then it was I can help you use it - I can use it myself, what I wanted was to be served, and if if you’re going to help me why can’t you serve me?? The assistant then agreed to serve me but on her way to the till was asked for help by a customer - on the self checkout, and disappeared to find an item for her, leaving me stood there to wait again?!! The manager saw me and asked did I want to use the self check out, and on it goes………….. By this point I wasn’t my usual happy self as I have a life and things to do, and had aready spent 25 minutes queuing in a similar situation the day before, so we had a frank exchange of opinions and I left. I hope this second pair of pyjamas fit as I ain’t going back - ever!!! I have to say this is not my experience in other Matalan stores - sort yourselves out Bamber Bridge

Extensive range of homeware and clothes. Good for inspiration with different displays

Love coming here. Got some great sale bargains. Shame the cafe has closed, husband didn't get his coffee.
