An old, slightly run down and dusty Department Store, soon to close down, I think. I quite like it because it feels old fashioned and a little retro but it is always empty, there are little signs of decay everywhere and there's a sadness in the air. Nonetheless, at least one staff member (the manager of the suiting department) was very helpful and attentive in helping my partner find a suit for an interview.

There is wheelchair accessibility throughout most of it and a lift.

I called in yesterday to pick up a Click and Collect order on the second floor. The staff are so helpful here.

It's a shame to see what once was such a vibrant, beautiful, bustling department store reduced to just a ghost of its former self.

It really feels as though the heart has been ripped out of the store.

Come on, House of Fraser! Don't give up on this stunning landmark department store in Cardiff....put some investment into it and make it a destination shop customers want to visit once again!

DO NOT BUY ONLINE.

Worst online shopping experience I can remember. Bought a pair of football boots. They arrive one size too big and clearly already returned (Ripped box, boots laced and loose in box etc).

Annoying I thought, whatever. Went to return them - no customer service number, just a chat or email. I wrestle with the chat bot to speak to someone for a good 15minutes, eventually getting through to a 30minute wait.

After a long back and forth theh agree to waive the £5 return fee and send through an email. Email never arrives. So I go back through the same process the next day - apparently there's no record of my first interaction, here we go again. 30mins later and evidence sent of wrong size, return fee is waived. This time the email arrives.

I head down to town and return as instructed, with my prepaid QR code thing, all seems well.

Refund arrives a week later - £5 less than I paid. They deducted the postage anyway! Truly, truly abysmal service. I used to remember this shop being decent, but it seems its barely more than a scam at this point.

Best of luck to you House Of Fraser. You're a shambles.

Great selection of Barbour brand clothes. Helpful assistants. 20% Promotions what's not to like. Early present shop for Christmas.

Such a shame its closing down. The store is a far better asset to the capital city than a block of flats. When will they learn?

It’s a tat shop now. Complete waste of time. No service quality, May as well order on Amazon. We didn’t have any problems, so in not an angry customer or anything like that. It just felt horrible.

They didn’t have the heating on or half the lights.

Jean on handbags seemed like she couldn’t be bothered to be there. Manager had to come over and didn’t even look at us to acknowledge us.

1st visit was a nightmare one of the sales assistants wearing a fake dior hoody thought she was better that everyone and I wanted a refund as the tshirt was faulty so I was entitled but not according her . Second visit was more helpful the womanswear manager was really nice and apologised for his staff for the visit before.

One of my favourite shop used to be, rude staff in shoes section, not easy to get staff attention, she had attitude when I ask her check my size if you have in stock. Not friendly at all
